So ... anyone else here ever have to give witness testimony to homicide detectives at 3am after you've taken 6 pills?
Kind of an interesting situation, really. All of it. Don't recommend either the witnessing or the testimony.

So one minute you're inside at a chill friend's birthday party minding your own business.
The next minute you step outside for a cigarette only to look over at the house next to you and see the entire party stream out screaming, w/ gunshots.
Then there's police tape and people crying.
Then the gang unit is at your door asking for witnesses.
Hoorah!

Yeah it kind of threw me off for a bit ...
The worst part was that I was the only one at the party who was outside for any of it so I kept being bombarded with questions that I really just didn't want to put up with anymore.
I think the funniest part, though, was basically having to share my entire life story with this detective in, umm, quite a state. DOB, address, phone number, profession, etc... At that point, though, your brain pretty much sorts itself out really quickly to be able to keep composure. Thankfully, he was a very nice person, and it was by far (at least in the context of the police involved) my most pleasant experience with an officer of the law.

I've never been witness to a shooting while fucked up but I have had to deal with law enforcement while off my face a few times thanks to people ODing. You are right, even if you were trashed you get that adrenaline rush and it sorts you out pretty quickly.

To be honest with you, any time that I have been really, really fucked up and had to deal with the police I have always tried to be as direct with them as possible and not try to appear as if I'm just trying to get away from them.
It's just seemed to have better results than the whole "Figure out how to get away from the police ASAP" move has.

yeah this is for sure the best way to handle a cop when fucked up. Most cops have been around the block enough to know if you are feeding them a line and once they pick up on you acting suspicious they are going to keep digging. The best thing to do is to be respectful, answer their questions, and generally act like you have nothing to hide and have no reason to be worried that you are talking to a cop.
