For me, it's gotta be Delerium - Silence (DJ Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise Mix). I'm surprised more people haven't cited it, actually.
The 1999/2000 trance sound will always hold a special place in my heart.

I had Robert Miles - Children for a while but I never liked it too much... I guess it was a little slow for me. Then in Feb. 2002, I was on dtmpower.net downloading their video's and that's when it started for me. They edited songs into the vid's, and the first three I dl'd had...
