I hope they don't read this, but the Americans on this board are the biggest f**ktards. They are always flaming and bitching, paying people out, its really annoying. They're not ALL bad, but 9/10 times when someone is being an arsehole its a Yank. |
Hey...the ukta's are just as obnoxious as a generalization as americans are...but that is the only defense I give.
On the above "country as a whole electing Bush" comment....in fact the country as a whole (if you take the actual votes counted) Al Gore got several thousand more votes. I won't go into explaining the weirdness of the Electoral College because it would be like you explaining the whole parlimentary election process and the selection of a Prime Minister etc. to an average American (actually the average american knows jack shit about our system)
And since only about 30% of eligible voters actually voted in the 2000 elections, you cannot make a generalization about all Americans when only 15% of them caused your issue It is like an American thinking that all Australians are a cross between Steve Irwin and Crocodile Dundee.
But I won't defend my fellow countrymen in general because, in general, I dislike most of what my countrymen are like. I abhor what has become of our political system and its two party power war. It keeps the voice of the people from really being heard. The one "American" (because he is a naturalized US citizen) I hate more than anyone is Rupert Murdoch. He wants to be, and is, the Willam Randolph Hearst of the 21st century and uses his yellow journalism and lies to push his neo-conservative nazi-esque political positions to the fore and through the process. It was in fact, his network that, when the other networks had all projected a Gore win in Florida, changed their position to, "now it is too close to call" putting the focus on that charade of democracy that was the Bush scam in the land of the idiots (which I call florida).
In closing, I am saddened by the fact that the crap spewed by americna mass media and corporate culture out to the rest of the world has soured other people's opinion of us in general. I don;t understand why OJ was on the australian news any more than I understand why it was on the US coverage 24/7 when it happened either.
MrS, the American interloper.
