Overall it was a pretty average night for me. It was nice to run into some old school TAs like Cuzo and Kevin, but the music was nothing spectacular. I found Marco V's set kind of boring, AP were just idiots, and I lost all respect for them, finally M.I.K.E was good but not amazing. I found that the party did not have the overall energy and euphoric vibe that I'm accustomed to at the Guv. complex. Nevertheless, I had a pretty good time.

So, in summary:
Marco V rocked it, Astral Projection were drunk & disrespectful, and M.I.K.E. was awesome, but everyone was too wiped out.
(repeat)

Brian- sorry I missed u babe (and Skytrance girl was here too??). Since u were with me at MIKE's set at Mansion, at least I can count on your judgement / comparison between the 2 sets. Still bummed that I missed seeing Marco & MIKE here, but sometimes u gotta make sacrifices. You're so lucky u saw him play his old anthems- he didn't play a single one in Miami.

why not put at least breaks in there instead? at least it wouldn't be a total buzz killer. i avoided guvernment at all costs because of this.

shoulda called it ultra thug 5

its so funny walking from the KH to the guv and you have to go the orange room, it was perfect at global gathering coz there was no hip hop so you didnt have to deal with that crap. i also find that the crowd in the orange room seem to be a bit more hostile than the guv and KH.oh and i feel so sorry for the ladies that walk through there, i wonder if they make it??
that room should be done away with especially on special events that involve transit from KH to guv coz its totally a mood killer.

i completely agree, having to walk through the orange room was miserable, and completely would kill the buzz. difficult to walk through, lots of sweaty people not moving for you, and hip hop. reminds me a lot of the more popular clubs in buffalo, which i avoid.

ick.

I totally forgot to mention the orange room to, no need for that crowd to be put between those 2 rooms, they should have that crowd fenced off in there own little room. It would have made more sense to put that music in charlies. Walking though the orange room was like an instant trip to philty mcnastys, big bucks, or billy bobs

Woah...

Ok, I was so pumped for this party ever since I heard M.I.K.E was coming down, and I knew I was gonna enjoy myself no matter what.

It took us forever and a day to get there due to traffic on the DVP, but I finally got in just after 1am (you da man John!). Now Marco V was good, but nothing spectacular imo... he played a few tracks I thoroughly enjoyed, but the rest I wasn't feeling...

So killing time back n forth from patio to the KH was a must, and socializing with the very small group of friends that actually came with me to such an important event (damn you wemf!)... but I have to agree, the hip hop between the rooms totally killed the buzz... I'd RUSH my ass off to get to and fro..

AP... well, whats tehre to say that nobody else hasn't mentioned... I think their behaviour was outta line, but overall they were very entertaining... I wasn't feeling most of their set, but a few tracks really impressed me, to say the least. I guess I didnt really care for any of the other headliners and just wanted to M.I.K.E to come on.

Then finally (and late mind you) he came on, and my perma smile which set in earlier in the night was justified... M.I.K.E was amazing... a 5 year wait well worth it! A few of his own productions that I remember he played were:

Push - Legacy
Push - Universal Nation
Push - Strange World
Plastic Boy - Live Another Life (OMG!)
Active Sight - Take The Day As it Comes (Made my night for sure!)
M.I.K.E - Turn Off The Lights
M.I.K.E - Sunrise At Palamos (mmmmm)

I was also pleasantly suprised to hear another fav, F Massif - Somebody (Ferry mix)

Anyhow, another BIG highlight of the night was all the great TA's I saw and the new Ta's and just new people I met overall! The vibe was incredible when Push came on and I connected with so many people... There's too big a list of names to mention (never mind rememember ) but I did make some new awesome friends! And I guess there IS a purpose to having my ugly mug as an avatar (nice to meet you Tordan)

There was a very slim changce I wasn't gonna have an AMAZING time that night, and it truly was a memorable experience for me. I just wish M.I.K.E wasn't on too late, and I wish the other headliners were better in order to improve the overal caliber of the party itself..

Now, J00F Anyone?

omg, you guys are the biggest freakin whiners...orange room has always been hip hop, and i actually like it that way...you know why? i actually hate hip hop, but lots of my friends do, and aren't as fond of EDM...so this is the best way for us to compromise...thats why i like guvernment so much...we can get some awesome house on the skybar, the drink and the acid lounge, some amazing trance techno and prog in the guverment and kool haus and a mix of top 40 and hip hop in charlies and the orange room which are the two of the smallest rooms at the guvernment! so whats the big deal...your buzz was ruined by walking through there? maybe you should pick a room and stick to it a little bit longer if thats such a problem...i love guvernment for its diversity, and stop being so damn selfish only wanting the type of music you want to listen to, theres a place for everyone in that building
