I highyl, HIGHYL doubt that highways are closed.. I mean, its still uncertain where it would hit, and people WILL travel if anything.. and if anything, we would have been told so.. Ive never heard of Highway closures.. never, only bridge closures tours the beach and such. So come bro, and experience this monster and party die hard!!..
look.. go to sunsentinel.com And look for updates, news, closures of w.e. they feel closing. They even have a hotline ( for rumors ) for you to call.. either dade, broward or palm beach.
This is probably what you heard...
# STATEWIDE: Gov. Jeb Bush declared a state of emergency throughout Florida because of the hurricane, activating the National Guard. The state's Emergency Operations Center was open.
# TOLLS:
At the request of the State Emergency Operations Center, tolls have been suspended in both directions on Florida's Turnpike from the Interstate 75 interchange (milepost 309) in Wildwood south to the US 1 interchange (milepost 0) in Florida City, to facilitate evacuation efforts due to Hurricane Frances. In addition, tolls have been suspended in both directions on the Sawgrass Expressway (Toll 869) in Broward County and on westbound I-75/Alligator Alley, between Naples and Fort Lauderdale.
