damn, this flooding has been a bitch. just got my computer up and running again after a few days without (the water is still undrinkable ). I wish florida would keep its hurricanes to itself
It appears as though the only things i've missed is yoepus reciting bush doctrine on the definition of terrorism and speedracer making a seemingly valid point of the occupancy of an airplane.
| quote: | | Terrorism in the way it is used today does not mean 'instillig fear' or even 'being evil' - it means 'instilling fear into a civilian population by violence to achieve political goals'. |
i'm not even going to take the cheap opportunity to prove my point here. I'll just say that muslims aren't the only ones with this gameplan.
okay, speedster,
i'm at a loss. i don't know if an analogy exists that can make you see a different perspective (it can even be blamed on my stupidity). You started a thread saying that muslims are the main perpetrators of terrorism. then saying that it was a qualitative statement.. not quantitative when challenged with numbers. I've only been challenging you to think outside the box on this one. All i'm suggesting is that hijackers and suicide bombers aren't the only terrorist methods used in today's world.
I imagine myself in baghdad, sitting in a house with the lights out in a sleepless night, not knowing if the next "shock and awe" missle will hit my house with my wife and children asleep in the next room. You seem to see this as reasonable casualty of war. How many of these homes is worth a strategic taget being neutralized? but i'm drifting from my point. what is my point?
J.P. Morgan once said, "A man always has two reasons for the things he does- a right one and the real one." I refuse to focus on bush's right reason. but that wasn't my point either. have i lost it? Maybe you threw me for such a loop in asserting that if given modern military methods, muslims would continue to target busses and markets instead of american military targets (like the USS Cole). but that's not fair because they used a boat. right? damn, off i go again. I guess i'm just frustrated that i can only toss a rope in to your hole, but i can't make you climb it.
and btw, if hurricane ivan comes into my mountains, i'm blaming it on al-qaeda. on that note, i gotta go. my poopy smelling water has been boiling for over 10 minutes and i need to get a drink.
