yes but ferry corsten costs more to book, you are all missing out on this really simple fact

Paul van Dyk puts on the night, he PAYS corstens fee, and corstens fee is a lot more than any berlin techno dj, so hes out of pocket.

If he wanted to make money he'd put the price up but,

ticket price is the same no matter who plays, so it would be easier for him to make money with a 'cheap' dj - because its never going to be totally deserted is it?

There's still the fact that he's not making as much a profit as he would with just another Vandit night.

I think you're forgetting the fact that DJ's are entertainers. From what it sounds like between what everyone has said here and with what's going on with this party, it sounds like PvD is merely expermenting with the interaction between the audience and the styles of music being presented. He's "expanding his horizons", if you will. He DOES have the money to pull off a risk like this, after all. Therefore, if this little test doesn't work, no sweat off of PvD's back.

This is just how I see it.

Let me show you mathmetically why I am right and you are wrong.

(Ticket Prices X # of Attending )- DJ FEE = Profit

($10 X 1,500 ) - $10,000( Techno DJ ) = $5,000
($10 X 3,000 ) - $20,000 ( Ferry Corsten) = $10,000

I forgot to add water and liquor sales but it would be fair to assume that profits would be higher when more people attend.

Conclusion: A Ferry Corsten booking brings in more money. I think Paul Van Dyk did the same calculation.

saying hes a 'no name' in germany is bullshit. Hes a global trance dj

this is exactly why he booked tiesto, so its just the same for corsten

i know this to be true so there is little point in continuing the discussion - ive just tried to explain it to you but if you dont want to understand then its no bother for me.

I'm not the biggest PVD supporter anymore, by any means, but, maybe, he just wanted to have a kick ass night. If I were him, I would be booking Armin, Ferry, Sasha, Digweed, Sander K, etc. Create the best possible environment for your fan base and, hopefully, make some money doing it as well. For him it's probably not that important to make money off this as he makes plenty on his normal bookings and record sales. I don't know his percentages, but I know what his bookings to play out here have been and it's insane.

Laushinameee this thread has just demonstrated once again and for the millionth time on this forum that you are ignorant and a PvD whore. Once again your stance of if its not PvD its crap clearly shines through. Its obvious that PvD has sold out, wether or not you want to face that is up to you. Your opinion isn't fact just thought i'd let you know that. I think that this vandit night will be great and i would definately go if I were in germany. Laushinameee you need to get over yourself and realize the vast majority of people on this board think your an idiot and very obnoxious.

Thought you might need some help seeing that your opinion isn't fact let me grab the defination of opinion for you
