and yes, subway doesnt need to be under earth, subway can combine under earth and above earth, depending on where it is (over in suberbs, under close to dowtown). That would make it much cheaper and i dont think any other city has all its subway under earth? |
Toronto is comparable to a city like Madrid which hav a similar population size, but Madrid's subway is far more extensive.. as is Barcelona which has a smaller popuation than Toronto ..
but then this would lead into the whole debate about people being less dependant on cars there, etc.. blah blah ..
