I didn't pay that close of attention when reading the initial post I suppose. I didn't catch the part where you mention that you would probably never see her again. Sorry.
If this is a one time thing and we're talking about someone who was a proximity friend (which is not a real friend) then there is no point in telling him. I thought perhaps this was a real friend in which case just hoping he doesn't find out is not an advisable course of action.
