Honestly, I was disappointed with this album the first time I heard it. And the second time. After that though, it really grew on me. It's no Involver, certainly nowhere near Airdrawndagger, but it is definitely one of the better albums in my collection. Very solid listening experience from beginning to end. And that Goldfrapp song at the end =

lol i am always slightly disappointed when i give any sasha production the first listen. everyone hypes it up so much. but i also think the dude is always trying to go for something that lasts longer than just the moment, so it always ends up that the mix doesn't wow you during the first listen but really grows on you and digs under your skin. that was so with add and involver and even ibiza. as for this cd, having been to every ny fundacion party, this was a welcome cd because even though it didn't sound like 6 am ny fundacion, its mellow melodies do bring back memories of those nights in its own weird way. to boot it's a really solid mix. everyting flows so well and the build up is great even if it is true that he loses the listener a little toward the end. whenever i do listen to it, i am always surprised at all these elements. it's good stuff.

i bought it a few days ago, and i was rather disappointed as well.. some very cool stuff on it, but there are a few dead moments as well, a few moments where things do not seem to go anywhere.

i guess i'll listen to it some more.. maybe it is a grower, i don't know. but at the moment i'm not impressed.

What he said ^ *nods in agreement*

Music like this also tends to stay good for much longer than something instantly likeable. For one thing, every listen makes it better, not worse. Also, instantly catchy tunes often seem to feel dated much faster, in my experience.

Sasha's least impressive mix compilation to date, which says a lot. Really disappointed, actually. I wasn't crazy about Involver, though I liked it. This is well below Involver, nevermind Ibiza or San Francisco.

I bought this recently, but still not getting it after 5 listens... Love the depeche mode cover, but apart from that I'm struggling to see/hear what all the fuss is about

The fuss is about the fact that is was mixed using Ableton live software and the maven controller/mixer/whatever it is. It is also a departure from the normal sound that is out there atm and is, in fact, quite revolutionary.

I'm not entirely impressed with Fundacion. The skill is there. That is unquestionable about Sasha. The record just doesn't strike a chord with me. I can cite Involver as one that definitely did. The emotion in that record connects much more with me. On Fundacion, I can pick a couple of tracks that make me listen, for sure, but Involver was a complete masterpiece. I just can't leap to the same conclusion for this release. Fundacion is a good record, but Involver set the bar so high in regards to my own personal standards, and Fundacion doesn't match it.
