While I doubt something like this will be enough to dethrone Tiesto (I mean, c'mon! Flying Geishas! How can you compete with that!?), it would still be hilarious to watch an unknown random bloke high on the DJ list via the power of pranksters. Just look at how the David Hasselhoff album gets such praise at Amazon.

Heck, I'd imagine other sites that consider the DJMag poll a joke would be up for joining on this crusade as well (Discogs, DJForums, etc.).

I'm wondering (maybe it was stated somewhere in this thread though..) how many votes would you need to make it to the top 100 / 50 / 10?

I'll vote Mikey as well, I don't know him at all but I'm all for sarcasm and directness. Plus I honestly don't have a clue as to whom I'd actually vote for had I been taking this poll seriously.

Besides that, you just gotta show your love for people being able to live in a country where the main national dish is smelly fish litter and chips softer than Big Gay Al wrapped up in yesterday's headlines.

90,000 people vote in the whole poll. TA has 50,000 members. That's over half the normal amount of votes, so it's enough to win by a big margin.

That's assuming that every member votes. However, a sizeable majority of TA will still take part. I know I'll spread the word outside of TA, simply because I like music activism. I wouldn't be surprised of the selected TA ended up being around 100 or something. That'd be pretty damn cool.

the biggest problem still is that people such as the sly one will continue to push others or not fully support it, whoevers chosen (and imo it should be sum1 who's contributed here, there's enough of them who're good enough and haven't just spammed shit) should get it, but that's the ta inside of me wanting one of our own to win & not just some guy who sees us as a promotion tool

Thought the poll had a far larger amount of voters, considering the value some people attach to its results.

Anyway, TA definitely could have an influence (in any way, shape or form) on the final outcome if your numbers are accurate.

Last year they announced that figure, claiming it to be the "largest number yet". I guess that the top jock gets about 10-15k votes at most.

I think ID&T & Tiësto's whole reasoning (well, publicized reasoning ) behind the first TiC was, "If 25,000 people voted for him, why not fill a stadium with those people?" or something like that.

Reasonable, though still a very small figure when you see how much hyping one gets (especially the last few years) from being chosen as #1..

stop taking this shit too seriously (well some of you anyway). what's this talk about "oh random dj will get gigs and he/she will die" blah blah? so what if they do? provided they have half decent skills and can beatmatch they're better than tiest0r already. add a few lines of coke and they ARE deserving of #1.

The whole thing djmag poll is a joke (why do i even need to state this on TA?), hence getting a random TA on there works for me. the objective is to expose this pos poll as a hoax, and TA has the numbers to do it (if there is enough support). the idea of going to other communities that equally despise the poll for votes is good, it's like a common allegiance against idiocy. Reminds me of the Ali G movie and how those two rival gangs banded together against a common foe rofl. booyakasha!

Alright, put up that poll Neo and we will find the chosen one.

btw, i nominate chris pana and DJ muli.
