My wife and I are headed to the UK for Bestival (Sept 5 - Sept 12) to hook up with some old friends of ours.

Do you have any advice on the night life scene on the South Side of London, we'll be operating from Liss and from what I understand getting around there is a challenge?

you mean liss in hampshire, eh? i'm not much familiar with it, to be honest. the site's been patchy today, but i'd check dontstayin.com for nightlife in the UK. the site's got thousands of listings -- quite amazing, actually.

there's a lot to do in brighton [honey club!], portsmouth, and winchester, if you don't get up to london, but if so...just depends what you want to do. believe the tube stops running around midnight, so it's best to be near where you want to go out and just party through the night when it starts again...unless you're up for a pricey taxi ride. will give you the names of some ace clubs, if that's what you're interested in...

Found a PVD gig @ Turnmills, yes my friend reminded me of the "tube" hours, so we'll just have to stay in town for the night.

If you spy something really interesting please drop a line, Carl Cox (Old skool set), Sasha are the headliners for Bestival and at $450 a person for tickets, I would almost rather pull teeth then endure a Sasha set like I witnessed in Asia.

fyi, the headliners at turnmills will probably go until 5-6am. the times i've been, the club didn't close until around 9am.

I'm stoked, haven't seen PVD to date, would like to catch him in a prime location, this is sounding like it. We just got the nod for a backdoor pass, my partner in crime on that side of the pond is the marketing something or other for British American Tobacco, so he's "mates" with mgmt of the club....

Now just need to find something comparable for Saturday night!!!

i'd try ministry of sound's 15th bday bash or the smartie party at turnmills...just don't know if you'd want to do the club twice. something's on at the key, also...can't remember, off-hand. check the london calendar of events on DSI, though...it's jam-packed! oooh! and don't forget sunday after-hours at jaded @ the egg or formulate @ the key

friends w/managment...nice! t'mills staff has always been very helpful and accommodating, especially when they know you're in from overseas. just email one of 'em ahead of time...
