So very true! Prior to 25 I partied in the same clubs as I did when I was a student but AFTER 25 I had the money to party in some of the best places in the world. So to think of it... my best partying experiences were mid-20's to now!

life at 50 is awesome. Kids have grown up, still live at home in the basement. no rent no spending groceries.

Except for my curfew, i pretty much can do whatever I want.
The money comes straight out of my RRSP.

I can't believe no one said this yet but most of the major DJs are in their 40s and even 50s!

For example, John Digweed and Sasha are both in their 40s and they'll be headlining the Giant Event in Los Angeles Danny Teneglia I think is 45 or older.

Long-term electronica lovers tend to hold up pretty well I think most of us can pass for younger without even trying. Something about the music keeps us from aging or it's all that time where we are not under direct sunlight

I think if your older and still in the scene. You're probably much wiser in what you do, when you go out, where you want to be. And definitely have to love the music. Otherwise you would have retired years ago

Herein lies the key to keeping house part of your life and spirit. I had been partying in the EDM scene since I was a teen so I took a break from things for a while a few years ago when I was in my late twenties. Around 30 I came out of house retirement when I discovered the TA and HA crew. These great people helped remind me that being part of the scene didn't have to mean you had to pretend to act younger than you were (however, if you thought I was, I loved you for it ) on some messy dancefloor with a bunch of sketch bags.

Can't say I get out to the club much these days as work and other life commitments usually demand early morning rises for this girl. It is the smaller EDM venues and house parties that keep me moving and keep me shopping weekly for new tunes. I will always be part of the scene and love the music...how and where I enjoy it will just have to be adjusted ... as these old bones dictate

Although I'm late with my contribution to this thread, I started partying a-la-EDM styles when I was 24 and am now 30. I don't go out nearly as often as I used to but I still have a great time when I do and mixing it up with smaller, more intimate parties has worked for me as well. And it doesn't hurt my ego either that people usually think I'm 25-26 years old

I've told Tara this in (I think this thread) and I'll say the same, we miss you! Fuck, one of these months/years we should have a huge ass TA get together, I vote next year if not sooner!


As for Fran's quote, so true (btw awesome hanging out w you @ A&B @ Pacha NYC), I wonder who's going to replace all the djs we're used to seeing within the past 10 years...
