These people were so in Yahel's face that I knew what each of them had for breakfast a week ago. That in conjunction with the dozens of whacked out guys and girls who had to get either a picture, an autograph or a request for butterfly or whatever in THAT MINUTE while Yahel was trying to think, program or mix is your answer. I would like to see any dj focus on a mind-blowing set of muzik under those conditions... IMPOSSIBLE! (unless you are as messed up as these people were).
I will also admit that 70% of these people were Israelis... so to those people I must say thanks allot for nothing. I mean yes you came to support an artist from your country, but if you want to support him let him focus on and do his thing right for everyone... Show your love after his set in a civilized way or cheer him on from the dance floor not on top of his cd case. I myself lived in Israel for 8 years and in Hebrew there is a word and a term to describe this behaviour: it's called acting like an "ARS" (means poisonous fish or something - no joke). But it was not only Israelis and I will stop there. |
You know what's wierd? I've been to my share of parties in Israel, and the Israeli's DO NOT act like this over there. I dunno if its a 'displacement' thing, a Thornhill thing, a drunk thing, or what.
I'd really like to give them an earful about this negative stereotype they're perpetuating. (and then probably link them to the 'what not to do w/a DJ' thread)
