Yeah, you're right.

I'm thinking we should just let people mix whatever they want.

I think we are trying to hard and we forget that we are here to have fun and mix some tunes.
So let's decide what categories we will make, the judges will pick 10 songs in each genre, we can use whatever remix or re-edit we want and see what hapends. After that if we will make another contest we should know what were the problems and how we can fix them.

i too agree with that... and that too could open up the doors for something that may have been mentioned that i've missed.

instead of working to a particular genre, we could just have 10 track names given therefore if someobody has the vinyl of a track in a diff genre, ie a house version of say, energy 52 - cafe del mar and someone has the trance version, they can still both be used (so people dont drop out cos it's just for trance this month then techno next, etc) - would also be A LOT more interesting for the listening judges

just more shilling

I'm judging trance. I don't feel qualified to judge anything else.

I think Import wanted to judge, but we haven't heard from him for a couple of days.

I wanna vote in both

Still alive

The tracks seem alright if were doing trance, theyre focused around a more classic selection, thats ok with me its almost better if were doing remixes, cause that would open alot of variety. Some people might find older tracks boring tho, whereas if we pick new releases theyre not going to have any remixes.

Im still down with judging although its true i only got tables recently (last night, hells yea) so i dont have a technical background to bring to the table. So if someone more qualified steps up id be ok to sit this one out, if not i still wouldent mind judging.

Im not really stuck on any genre, id go in order from most to least time i listen to Trance-House-Techno. I like the idea of people using remixs to mix up the genre, but bear in mind im probably gonna be prone to enjoying a trance set more then a techno set cause of preference in the genre, even though i dont want to be bias, which raises a problem, as im sure all the judges will have a genre in the three they lean towards even if not intentionally.
