Story:
Clovis and I get booked to play this two day 'private' party in Palm Desert (about 200 miles away from where we live). I figure it'll be awesome because: a) we're getting paid, b) we're getting gigs, c)we have a place to stay. We get there and right off the bat it's a little shady. The promoter rented out a house to have this party at, not a club or an actual venue...but a house  Then I notice that everyone showing up to the party is friends with her...yet she charged them $10 to get in and $3 for drinks. So basically these kids (18+ and 21+) are paying to get into a house party. Friday we opened from 9p-11p or so with my buddy closing from 11p-whenever. He gets kinda drunk and tells Clovis and I that the 3 of us should tag team, being as obliterated as we were we oblige and the 3 of us are tagging. Then he says to me "people kind of just want me to play alone" I said "sure no prob have fun!" and continue to partay it up. About an hour later I see Clovis back up so I assume we're tagging...again...then after about 30-40 mins of us tagging he says the same thing "people want me to play alone". I say "ok! then stop asking me to tag with you lulz". Anyway that was Friday.
Saturday afternoon, after disappearing for several hours, the promoter says to Clovis and myself that she's gone ahead and made the decision to have us NOT spin on Saturday. And that she's given away our accommodations to someone else and that "if we want to go home it's probably a good idea". Yes...we got kicked out just like that...no rhyme or reason just a simple "get your shit and get out". I asked my buddy to ask her what the deal was and he had no idea what had just happened. He talked to her and she told him "people weren't into the music". Granted my friend plays straight up kick you in the face techno, and that's obviously waht everyone wanted to hear, the promoter knew well in advance the type of music Clovis and I play. We sent her THREE demos and she liked them all.
My guess is she wanted us to bang it out, which we were going to do on Saturday when we were CLOSING! Who the fuck plays a headliner set at 9pm at a house party with like 10-15 people in it?
CORe Version: Clovis and I got kicked out of our gig before we even played.

Sunday rolled around, and the tides changed. Drank a bit, hit the pool, had dinner...got about halfway through the movie, then got naked and sex happened. Not a bad weekend I suppose.
