Wat mij betreft is dit naast The Office de beste Britse comedy die de laatste 10 jaar verschenen is. En het valt niet echt met iets te vergelijken eigenlijk. Het is een soort van parodie op ziekenhuisseries als ER, aangezien het zich afspeelt in een groot ziekenhuis,maar je ziet eigenlijk nooit echt operaties ofzo. Het zijn allemaal heel bizarre en extreme personages en situaties, en het is vooral het contrast tussen die serieuze setting en de vaak hilarische en absurde humor dat zo goed werkt. Bovendien gebruikt de regisseur ook redelijk ongebruikelijke (voor comedy althans) cameratechnieken en ligt het tempo vaak heel hoog, wat toch wel een heel aparte kijkervaring oplevert. Het zijn ook steeds afleveringen van 50 minuten, wat afwijkt van de gebruikelijke comedynormen.

In ieder geval is het een absolute aanrader! Het is even wennen omdat het geheel nogal afwijkt van de traditionele Britse comedy. Maar vanaf je in het Green Wing universum zit wil je er nooit meer uit. Uitmuntend scenario, waanzinnig grappig, geschifte personages en briljante acteerprestaties. En het 1ste seizoen kostte ocharme 19€ voor 450 minuten beeldmateriaal, dus koop het gewoon, ge zult het u niet beklagen
