heh, honestly this is where half the enjoyment comes from when i listen to trance (or make it), be it formulaic or not
the marriage between the elements in a perfectly balanced trance 'groove' (if you can call it that @ 140bpm) is often something that gives me far more of a buzz than whatever melodic shenanigans ensue.. my point, why make it about creativity when technical precision alone can result in a more pleasing outcome?
i'm glad you agree with the post i made in the colontonio thread, but really it's something i can look past. i have a disliking for melodies that sound like cheap rehashes but besides that, i like my trance to be 'efficient' more than anything
