do it on the plane? lol |
for fucks sake, there is actually too much snow. called some resorts and they said don't chance the flight because 80 is likely going to be closed thru the passes later tonight. also, they said the wind is probably too strong. MNWS is predicting 150+ mph winds at the ridges!! lifts to the peaks probably won't be open until sunday. maybe a trip out tomorrow night. we'll see.

I'm probably gonna do an okemo run in early feb with some college buddies. Anyone do any local runs here to hunter or other close places? It'd be sick to make a weekend out of this, find some club similar to Love right around a mountain... wake up, drink, snowboard, drink, club, drink.. somewhere, food in there...

Just finished day 1 of 6 at Whistler... OMG! RIDICULOUS. Never been out west before, what a treat... pics to come later when I get back... |
what a fucking treat you had....whistler just got pummeled by a storm....not like the 11 feet of snow that fell on tahoe this weekend, but 2 - 4 feet isn't too shabby.
definitely get your ass into garibaldi provincial park on the backside of blackcomb. hike up the ridges on the other side of the valley. definitely worth the hike. you won't regret it. just remember to go with someone else, and see if you can get your hands on an avalanche transceiver. but you shouldn't have to worry about avalanches over there because they don't let people hike out if there is substantial danger of it.
since this is your first time out west, stay off the cat tracks and trails, we have plenty of that crap in the east. get into the bowls and tress. definitely get your ass into symphony and harmony bowls. if you have the courage, try the right side of whistler peak....there are some great cliffs and chutes to get into; it's not that scary after you try it.

Whats up riders?
Trying to lock down Tremblant for MLK weekend, so far looking good.
Might try to bus up to Okemo this weekend and get myself prepped for the french side of things.
Still haven't made any solid outwest plans yet but I've been looking into Mamouth or Bear while I visit some friends in the left coast.
Would still love to get out to Whistler if I could, still not sure on that...
Hope everyone is staying ontop of their riding game...keep cutting that pow! |
mammoth is sick, but a very brutal drive. 5 - 6 hours of unbelievable boredom.
