Those who say that TA has gone to the dogs because of people jumping on bandwagons that hate artists that become popular should think of the converse as well. Jumping on bandwagons protecting the artist that becomes popular. Deadmau5 tracks in my opinion are utter tripe, including this remix, and I just ignore anything made by him now (and that's a hell of a lot), but this whole 'stop being jealous', and 'what have you ever produced' is what's hurting TA much much more. |
The problem is rather simple. The artists that get "bashed" (i personally don't think they are, but this is the endless talk between fanboys, who don't accept that there may be people who don't like the track and the people who just state their opinion) are mostly artists like deadmau5 in here, Sean Tyas or Richard Durand stuff. Do you know what they have in common? They release too much stuff that does not only sound boring (in my opinion - i even remember deadmau5 saying some time ago, that he considererd faxing berlin being boring and that it goes nowhere), but they tend to constantly do pointless and needless remixes of classic tunes, that sound like any other track they did. Sean Tyas is the best example for that. Furthermore the fanboys say that their sound is "fresh" and that they are "saviours of the trance scene" or bollocks like that, where neither of it is true. Their sound is mostly so generic-sounding, that it hurts and their "work" with agreeing with remixing old classics or stuff is generally one of the top reasons EDM has gotten so shitty over the past few years.
Edit: There's nothing wrong with updating old tracks. You can really make it right. Although i don't like it personally too much, I remember a thred there were a lot guys, who said that the new Cosmic Gate Remix of Vincent de Moor - Fly Away is even better than the original

Yeah, I'd really like to clear one thing up: If I'm not mistaken, Hybrid are not at Distinctive Records anymore, right? Then why in hell would THEY ask deadmau5 for a remix that would then be released on a record label, they aren't even involved with anymore?
