Clov, would you agree that the Standard on a good night blows away the terrace? |
um, i've been to both and as much as i love the standard in downtown LA, i spend many sundays there, it in no way even comes close to space terrace, imo!!!! one of the parties i'm most excited about is sander on the terrace and he's not even one of my top 5 favorites. it's just the feeling, the music, the vibe, the sun, the people, the energy that radiates off the crowd, i don't know, i just loved it so much.
i went last year last minute, by myself, with no expectations or experience with space or the terrace and i guess maybe i got lucky b/c it was still hands down one of the funnest parties i have attended ever!
i waited in line a bit, no more than i have at avalon in LA or what some people have had to wait at the standard but i eventually got in and it was so worth it. i don't know, i can tell you horror stories i've heard about most of the clubs here in LA but it doesn't keep me from going. every experience is different and sometimes trying to get in, etc can be a bitch but, well, to me it's always worth the wait
here's to hoping that none of us deal with bullshit lines or horror stories on our adventures this year! yeah, i know, that's an awful big wish, but i'm putting out positive vibes for us all
