that dredded Ottawa connection.. Marc Savard an Ottawa native and Schaefer an ex Ottawa Senator. Boston is now back in it and it's a close series since the game one blow out. Hopefully the Habs pull it out.. 'cause if Anaheim gets knocked out by Dallas, then this may be the Habs best chance to go all the way, imo

Savard was the 6th man in on that goal on the delayed penalty...but WHERE was the infraction? I couldn't see anything that warranted a call. I still love hockey but the NHL needs to scrap this two referee system and calling so many goddamn penalties, especially in OT.
We could have stolen that game tonight since Price was making crazy saves. Fucking frustrating! Well I hope they keep their composure, SKATE HARDER, STOP BEING FANCY, CRASH THE NET MORE AND PUT SOME GODDAMN PUCKS ON NET! Higgins and Plekanec have been invisible in this series and Markov has been disappointing as well. I still think O'Byrne should be in there.
If Boston ties this series on Tuesday, we could be in trouble because Boston have been playing harder and seem to want it more.

when Tom Kostopoulos is your best skater out there, you know you have a problem. We had some chances in the OT, but couldn't bury it, it's too bad. Boston played a great game, we just didn't take advantage of our opportunities. Thomas was strong too.
In some respect, I'm kind of glad they lost 1 game. They need to come back to Earth and refocus. Hopefully we'll hear less of "16 for 25" etc etc etc, and concentrate on winning this series first. Let's hope they come back on Tuesday more energized and shutdown Lucic and Savard, pretty much their only offensive threats to date!!
oh, and can someone tell Kovalev to stop deking through the entire team!! We almost got burned many times tonight

Kostopolous, Smolinski and Lapierre look pretty good out there...at least they are hustling! We all love Kovalev but he tends to disappear out there sometimes and try to do too much. The first two lines need to keep it simple and shoot more. Boston isn't a very skilled team and are resorting to clogging up the shooting lanes, getting in the way, clutching and grabbing, whining to the refs...but Thomas stood up for them today.
We've had two mediocre games and still keep it real close. But the pressure is on for Tuesday...lose that and I'll start getting real fucking nervous.

every series I've watched has had bad referee-ing. They need to bring back Mr Hair himself Kerry Fraser and always frothing at the mouth Paul Stewart

It was Begin with Smolinski and Kostopoulos tonight. The Dandenault, Lapierre and Latendresse line had some chances too! Guy could have finished it in the OT there, but Thomas had a nice save on the blocker.
I think this 1 loss will dump some people from the bandwagon, and for good measure! Tuesday is gonna be huge. I don't think anyone expected them to continue on the winning streak they've had against Boston so far. They were 13-0, now 13-1. Let's hope they end up 15-1!!

yeah that's what I meant...since the lockout the calls have been way too inconsistent. It's not an excuse but there are too many penalties when the game is close, waaaaaaayyy too many fucking 5 on 3s. And I HATE that delay of game penalty for shooting it into the crowd. That is just so...American.
Fraser still refs...he did Game 1 of this series but wears a helmet now. I just prefer old school hockey...let all but the most obvious stuff go, especially in OT!

yeah, and I believe Stewart retired due to cancer, use to be a tough guy player too.
Anyone know if Koivu or even Bergeron for Boston is due back? These guys can also change the complexion of this series.

Koivu still has the boot on his foot....so I doubt he'd be ready for game action anytime soon. But maybe if Montreal loses on Tuesday, we'll see him back for Thursday??
Bergeron was cleared for contact in practice...but I don't think for game action yet.
But who really knows. What the teams tell the media and what the reality is during the playoffs are two different things.
