Eraserhead is now the weirdest fucking movie I've ever seen.
But in some perverse way I think I liked watching it.

I can't even say exactly what I like about it or what the fuck was going on in that movie. Some critic wrote "it's the closest any movie has ever come to depicting a real nightmare" and that's spot on. Or rather I do have some idea of what's going on, but it's subject to some subconscious logic that can't be expressed in the rational form of words.

My girlfriend really wanted to see this when it came out so we went to watch it at the theater. I was really into it but then it really went down the toilet at the end.
Think of "From Dusk Til' Dawn". It's a fantastic movie all they way before they go into the Titty Twister, then the vampires come out end everything goes to hell.
I'm not saying you shouldn't watch it, just sharing my thoughts...you might still enjoy it. Most people did

It's kinda more creepy than scary if you catch my drift, but still very good.

I have serious doubts. Plot is copied from Stephen King's Thinner and the trailer doesn't look scary at all.
Sure it's Sam Raimi and the movie isn't supposed to be all too serious, but when he made Evil Dead he had inspiration but hardly any money. Now I assume it's the other way round. After making three Spiderman movies I can't easily believe he still has anything fresh and interesting to offer.

That's what makes it so disturbing, that there are so many unanswered questions. With normal "horror" movies there's an internal logic that explains why everything is happening. But with Eraserhead it's just a nightmare and you're asking yourself:
"Why is that 'chicken' spurting out blood?"
"Why does the mom start going crazy when he cuts the chicken?"
"Why the FUCK does that baby look like that?"
"And why are they keeping that baby?"
"What are those worms that keep popping up?"
"And why is that woman with the fucked up face stomping on the worms?"
"Why is that guy using a human head to make pencils?"...

Drag Me To Hell
And it's supposedly cheesy good. Has some good scares, doesn't take itself too seriously.
