k ive only read so much of this thread and id like to comment on some things...
and i should prolly mention the fact that im neither an US citizen nor resident..

thats exactly why alot of the americans feel resentment. beacause people assume things about them from what they hear on TV and etc and the media tends to depict what they think well respesents their point or catches viewers attention.

okay.. maybe its true that some americans arent too aware of exisisting countries in europes, but isnt it safe to say that majority people making these assumptons of the us are actually the same Europeans that have never stepped a foot on us soil? and rely on the information supplied by the media?

you do realize that not all americans agreed on the decisions made by Bush. and often the common peoples' voices are never heard.

maybe you should trust your own perceptions than what you have heard?
you do realize that what you are getting hearing and seeing are information given my the media in your own country? this has nothing to do with the dutch media but, media in general tends to be bias....
if these replies are oudated im sorry. i havent had the time to catch up to the rest of the thread just yet... but these few posts were that one that i found disturbing and questions the hostil feelings by the americans on this board... likei mentioned, im neither american nor do i live there. but i dont understand why they are starting to act up against all the US basing. not cuz they are wrong or feel superior over other countries and people. but b/c they want to correct the false image that people, who have minimal clues as to wut the real americans are like, have.
hell i dont think the US is perfect and can name many of their flaws but i do think all this US bashing is truely childish.

and any September 11th comments are entirely out of line) I admit that George Dubya Bush is not the most intelligent man in the world *thick sarcasm*, and that he practices faulty foreign policy. I admit that our country can tend to have an arrogant attitude, and whoever commented on the rich kid in school getting beat up and picked on the most - props to you, good analogy.
