An $80,000 salary per year is indicative of an upper-middle class lifestyle opportunity. It is above the realms by which commercially feasible, mass-produced luxury can adequately be afforded within a general sense. Of course this standard is not static, if that is your point, nor can a "better lifestyle" be properly quantified within material means by some perspectives, but what exactly are you arguing here? Effective salary above $50,000 a year is above "middle class" - does this ensure that these people get whatever they want all of the time or that they aren't heavy in debt? Of course not, it's merely a general guideline composite of financial opportunity rather than strict fiscal scenario.
But by all means, continue this course of condescending ignorance based almost entirely upon an article of opinion; the irony of which being that you are demanding facts in the face of circumstantial subjection.
