I used to be weirded out by people who didn't give a shit about being naked but then I realized it was because I wish I felt the same level of comfort and confidence being that way. I'm not an authority to say for sure, but I think it's different with guys. Your junk is tucked away neatly whereas ours is flapping in the wind.

For a guy, if you're doing the towel change then maybe you're a bit insecure, but changing out in the open is a far cry from swingin' up onto the bench next to some dude minding his own business trying to put his shoes on and jiggling your spam sausage around at eye level. I don't care if it's half the size of mine and makes me feel like an elephant by comparison, I still don't want to see it.

Some people see any place where it's OK to be naked as an excuse to prance around naked, and there is a difference. We have actual nudist communities in or near the GTA; if it's really so important to you then go to one of those.

while no doubt some people have personal issues, surely you must be aware that not everyone is raised by the same two parents, or the same cultural or religious background to influence their sense of modesty?

No Ev, I'm not that ignorant, and yes, I realise that we all carry our own little cache of cultural, religious and genetically ingrained differences.

I also believe that it doesn't hurt to be reminded every once in a while that we also carry the capacity to unbind ourselves from our conditioning and the neuroses that often accompany.

P.S.: I'm naked right now. Pretty gross.
