i'd have to disagree with you. if you thought it was boring, well, that's one thing, but how was it pretentious?

also, i saw the wrestler, and that was a pretty kick ass performance by rourke, but penn was insane as well... honestly, i could see where they would just have to flip a coin to see who was more deserving.

That doesn't look very depressing. I'm willing to bet the movie ends one of three ways:

1) She realizes she's a selfish bitch and gives her sister a kidney
2) Her sister says something like, "it's ok I don't need ur kidney I'll be ok lol"
3) The cancer goes into remission and everything is happily ever after, but not really because Alec Baldwin isn't playing someone funny.

I had some really teary moments during any Dane Cook movies. I was thinking how did I get duped into wasting this part of my life on such horrid sh!t. Even Larry the Cable Guy don't get me so welled up as "Simon Sez", "Good luck Chuck", "Torque" and other brain-crushing sh!tmonsters of Kabbalahian proportions.

If there is any message here at all, it's don't mess with a novelist: being creative is her job.
