Dogfighting was widely practiced in colonial days and continues to provide entertainment despite being illegal in poorer rural areas and ghettos in the United States, Mexico, parts of South America, Asia, Africa, Russia. It's a popular sport. People bet on the fights, pay more to watch fights involving prize fighters (champions), and pay huge stud fees.

So I guess some people eat dogs, some fight them, others make them pets. I met a lady who treats her animals better than she treats her children. It was kind of sad.

You're going to hurt Jamie's feeling talking like that.

why does his fame mean he has a greater obligation to the public than you do?

because he's a role model. little kids want to grow up and play football and look up to those guys. athletes are sponsored by nike & g-rade, etc... because they represent success, integrity, hard work, etc... thus, turning them into role models.

remember how kobe byrant lost endorsements when his trial was going on? seems as though those big companies agreed (that he's a role model and was no longer considered role model material after being accused of rape/sodomy).

ok actually it probably had more to do with the fact that they were going to lose a lot of money lol but still...the fact that they would lose a lot of money means people were pissed off at kobe and lost respect and probably wouldn't buy the product any more.

why/how is this hard to grasp? lol you really needed me to explain that to you?

Jamie, Michael Vick went into bankruptcy as a result of his incarceration. He owed money. Lots of it. So they sold a lot of his personal property. Well, guess what? He still owes money. A lot of money. Millions.

So as part of his bankruptcy agreement, creditors will be getting a cut from his future earnings. So him being allowed back is a win-win for everyone involved.

Now what he did was not only morally repulsive in my eyes, but also illegal. The illegality of it has been dealt with already. We are not bigger than the law. He has paid his dues to society.

jesus fucking christ why is it so hard for you people to grasp that it bugs me that he will still be viewed as a successful football player on TV for all of the kids to continue to look up to him, despite his views towards animals (which i doubt have changed)?

I KNOW HE PAID HIS DUES. I AGREE WITH THAT.

ok?

I'm ok with Michael Vick, the football player, being looked up to. He's a tremendous talent. It's Michael Vick, the civilian, who shouldn't be.

If the kids are old enough to call him his hero, they are old enough to know the difference.

well we're obviously different when it comes to stuff like that. i judge people by their character more than i do for what they've achieved in life or what they're good at.

it really bugged me how popular michael jackson remained despite the fact that he practically replaced his entire head over the last 10 years. i don't care how many albums he sold, he was fucked in the head.

You let your emotions get in the way of rational thinking. It's well documented MJ was a weird guy, but artistically he was a cultural icon. Nothing he does to his face erases that.

Kids who idolize FOOTBALL heroes are dumb anyways.

Comic book characters are a different story.
