"Same difference". The fucked up mutant child of "Same thing" and "no difference". It doesn't make any fucking sense! "Same difference" is a complete oxymoron. It's semantically nonsensical. The other way two things could have the "same difference" is if they were being compared to some third party. And they never are.
"Couldn't care less" is another one. People putting no thought into what they're saying, because it's easier to copy what everyone else is saying. Osmosis of idiocy right there. |
i agree but i think they kind of make sense, in a fucked up way. "tomatoes or tomahtoes?" "i dunno, same difference." as in, the differences between the two are the same (being that each are pronounced differently)
also, "couldn't care less" for me = "i could not care any less for the subject at hand" = i didn't give a shit before, and i don't give a shit now; in fact, i care so little about the subject that it isn't possible for me to care any less than i do atm. saying "i could care less" to me implies that you care about the subject but wish you didn't. "i care about this subject, but i wish i could care less about it"
i dunno, i'm a weirdo.

slang is awesome here, you can confuse out of towners with a few words and talk about them without them knowing what you're saying. Some words mentioned in here however are pretty annoying.
