Need any more examples??
Both Richie Hawtin and Villalobos are djs appealing to RA crowd. I agree that that crowd is somewhat hipster but it is more in the jersey shore spectrum ) However, this in any case this is not what i was referring to ))) (in fact I hate RA sound and was referring to techno/tech excluding RA, which I thought was clear from my post), so you make a senseless argument once again, good job!

Well I'm not going to bother looking for any more examples but they are out there...
Look for that recently posted Glasgow thread...
It would figure that you would argue on the point since you're a lover of that genre...

in the new scene the bass is too mutherfuckin heavy and there ain't enough melody.
the 90s is unmatched in the sheer sickosity of beats. we need some more PLUR, some more good e, and more 1990s.

My first rave was in 95 with Sasha,Green Velvet and John Digweed....It was in an abandoned theatre...It was my introduction to LSD and I was only 13 yrs old.
There was a cover charge at the door but NO BODY PAID...NOW THATS WHAT I CALL A RAVE.
Im still hearing mixes from all those classic djs and they are still number one....
THEY SAY IF ITS TOO LOUD YOU ARE TOO FUCKIN OLD.
ITS JUST EVOLUTION.
P.S NOW I DONT THINK ANY OF THOSE DJS WOULD PLAY IN A ABANDONED THEATRE

Thats one of the reasons I dont go out as much anymore. Although the djs we have are very talented its basically the same music (tech house) over and over at the same clubs every week.

Love these threads.
Im all about the plur. I despise the pretentiousness of the 'club'....fuck even the fact that its called a 'club' is pretentious.
Having read this entire thread..or at least the relevant bits.. I gotta say. If youre after the rave mentality, support your outdoor festivals.
It seems like these are the only places where government regulations (capacities, drinking rules, closing time etc.) and commercialism havent had much influence.
Toronto as we all know regulates for sake of regulating.. so there is no chance of getting those 15000 person warehouses packed with ravers. One person will die of heat stroke due to not drinking enough and raves will be banned again.
Ive gone to a few WEMFs which were good with the exception of 16-17year olds who cant handle their drugs and the commercial aspect. More recently,i went to Eclipse in Quebec.
Eclipse embodies pure PLUR. No attitude, open minds and DJ's who do their legwork, instead of scraping the top 100 beatport charts.
