If the parents think babies without tribal tattoos covering their entire heads are hideous, should that be their right, too? In most cases that would be just as "necessary" as circumcision, i.e. not at all. And after all it's just some temporary pain undergone to avoid the terrible horror of having the untattooed face that nature gave them. If we're going to let parental aesthetics dictate permanent changes to a baby's body, let's go whole hog.
This is a sore subject. I've always wanted my face covered in tribal tattoos and I'm a bit upset with my parents that they didn't have it done when I was too young to have to experience and remember the pain.

Parents can still take their newborns to be serviced by Jewish witch-doctors, and wizards alike, in plenty of other countries. Besides, when it's finally outlawed everywhere it'll just be moved into people's homes... gross.
It's more about tradition at this point. Dad wants sons penis to look like his and usually his father before him coming from your average American view point.
The statistics of being an uncircumcised father and waiting to let your son to reach an age where he can decide for himself will be a very slim percentage of the son deciding to become circumcised unless he spends a lot of time look and penis then that would be a different story.
It's not some evil plan that since I didn't have a choice then my son shall have no choice either. No, it's more about family tradition and yes a lot of families were too dumb to notice or know it all stemmed from Religion but now were stuck with cut dicks that I am now happy I have because I know nothing else.
