As valid as a lot of these points are, the problem is that with the likes of huge multi-stage events like the Ultra Music Festival, Armin / Armada / ALDA don't actually have a say in who gets booked.
What usually happens is Ultra will book all the people they want, and whatever they assign as "trance" becomes the ASOT stage for the event. That's why you only get the likes of ATB appearing at these shows (Ultra, ASOT stage at EDC New York etc.) rather than the other shows on the 600 tour. Although it sometimes has its advantages like getting PvD on the bill today.
I think in analysing everything that has happened on the tour so far is that the laziness of many of the DJs has been exposed. By all means, you can expect people to play their signature tracks, but when you show up with 90% of your set the same tracks in the same order, it's made to look so much worse on radio (and further downloadable) broadcasts. |
so you're trying to tell us that Armada gets an ASOT scene but can't invite Dj's, only can do what UMF will say, that's strange to me, if it's true i'm shocked!
And yes all this events aren't even half trance orientated (where are the old times?!).
