2004 was were the decline in what people called trance really set in for me. had some good times during that year - consumed huge amounts of pills and did backflips to waveforce. avb was probably playing the best music he ever will (which was still pretty medicore imo).
all in all a popular year but not really a fantastic year.
hmmm... since 99 (i guess, or 2000?) avb was good. i love the first 50 episodes of ASOT... some techno~prog house~trance at his best

Mad respect to the people who still remember Ozgur Cans early contribution to trance this is how I know Im on the right forum.
It seems as if a lot of these songs were made for each other. I love this set because of its impressive tracks and its striking transitions. Shouldnt we pay respect to the DJing aspect of this? If Armin was in charge of putting this track selection together, mad hats off to him.
My fav gang of transitions:
1.1:14:30 1:20:00 holy shit best male to female to male transition I've ever heard.
2.48:00 52:00
3.56:00 - 1:06:00 smoothest and the most smothering
4.32:00 35:00
5.6:40 7:40
6.41:00 43:00
7.10:00 10:40
This is boring to some of you? Please show me whats entertaining to you. Honestly, I would love to hear.
If you love the thunk, post some of your favs

i think we can all agree that 2004 was just an all around good year for music. I'd like to throw up some of the hot progressive tracks for the year if that's not too much of a hijack. after all good music is good music right? hehe

yeah you are probably right. i never really listened to a set of his until about 2003-4 when he started to do the really big shows down here. even then i remember thinking - yeah guy can mix but all his tunes sound like set ending tunes - its always destination and no journey - he just seemed to play the biggest tunes he could find, going up in tempo and mechanically around the camelot key. he could do that by that stage i guess because he was playing peaktime slots and could to dictate to the crowd instead of reading them.
so i never really went back and heard his older ones would be nteresting to hear say a 1999 avb set.
