Well, its a shame that a change of tempo spoiled the mix for you, but I wanted to create a dynamic mix with moments of downtime and changes of direction to create a sense of narrative. There are a couple of big tempo shifts in different directions but I made sure to reset the energy with ambient interludes so the switch isnt jarring. This really isnt a dancefloor simulacrum mix, its a concept mix. I want your imagination to fire up and fill in the blanks with images, locations and scenarios. The whole soundtrack to a film that hasnt been made spiel, essentially.

Alright. Thanks for the review, Psyshell. Sorry you didn't like it. There aren't that many tracks in the genre but I found some pretty good ones imo. Guess your tastes are just vastly different than mine.

You can find most of my old mixes archived here: http://old.mixcloud.com/jack-moss/. I've just got a premium Soundcloud account so I'll be uploading my old stuff on there when I can be bothered. Also, if you enjoyed my other drum 'n bass mixes stay tuned for my next mix in a couple of weeks, once this competition is over.

I might take a look later today. Depends on how I'm feeling after I eat breakfast. There's obviously not much point listening if I'm in an "all music is annoying" mood. I don't use mixcloud because it doesn't allow downloads.

This isnt at all related to this thread... but I don't use mixcloud (or listen to mixes on mixcloud) because they don't show tracklists. I refuse to waste any of my time listening to any mix without knowing what I'm getting into first. I understand why they do it, I really do. Lets be honest: 80%+ of mixes out there are pure crap and I'm not going to roll the dice that X mix on mixcloud will be The One and spend 30 minutes of my time realizing that the DJ sucks. I can't always tell if I'm going to like a mix from a tracklist, but I can at least get a general idea (having been a DJ for almost a decade and been involved in most genres at one point or another, I can generally recognize artists and labels very quickly)

(This has nothing to do with System-J's mixcloud mixes which I'm sure are all superb.)

Most of my mixes on Mixcloud have permalinks in the mix description so you can still download them. And Mixcloud does show tracklists. Not sure where you've got that idea from. Example: http://old.mixcloud.com/jack-moss/c...ressive-breaks/

My thoughts 40 minutes in: It's been a bit "eclectic" as Bierheld and SJ have said but there's definitely been a wide variety of interesting tracks and I feel like it overall has some flow and an overall mood to it. There's been some nice directions it's taken at times. [just finished]: Well I think it's fairly interesting overall, I'll give it a listen another time as well. There's room for improvement but it's pretty good for chilled out techno/ambient music listening.

This forum upgrade might cause me to extend it even further. I gave everyone plenty of time but if everyone can't get it in, that will be a huge disappointment.
