what a fukkin awesome mix of eclectic sounds and electronic ambient textures.......
smoke a fatty and kick back to this mix - WOW
quite the delightful aural journey through genres in this essential mix and some awesome tracks thrown in there with respect to some some of my all-time favourite classics....
Isolee - Beau Mot Plage (Freeform Fve Remix/Trente Edit/Original Version - such a liquidy funky meandering track - loved it since I discovered it on a Turbo Records compilation mixed by Jasper Dahlback (John Dahlback's older cousin - talented family FTW!!!)
Moby - Go! (Trentemoller remix).... a defining track for me in 1991/92 and equates some of my very first club experiences here in Toronto and meeting a whole new group of people and the subculture associated with it! I own practically every remix of this track...and hearing this last weekend during the Deep Dish performance at Guv - I was like WHOA!! ME WANT!!! and now I have it in this sick mix
Chris Isaak - Wicked Game (Trentemoller’s Unofficial Remake)' (White Label) - I always loved this song and have 3 of Chris Isaak's albums - such melancholy and beauty in his voice and arrangements - the black and white music video for this track filmed by Herb Ritts in 1991, featuring model Helena Christensen
Lhasa de Sela - De Cara a la Pared (With a view toward the wall).... I have this album as well - when I worked at the record store back home this album was on our TOPCON wall for international artists for almost 2 years! Such beautiful songs from this Canadian artist she went platinum in Canada selling over 110,000 albums and winning a Juno in 1998 for Best Global Artist and went triple platinum in France.
Geroin - check out the album if you have a chance - its enchanting!
Jokke 'Feelin’ Good (Trentemoller Remix) - I really like this track - so bleepy and moody and minimal
and of course Anders' current label distributor Poker Flat has been releasing quality electro/techno music for almost a decade now with talented artists such as (Steve Bug, Martini Bros, A.D.N.Y., John Tejada, Martin Landsky and even Torontonian Nick Holder) all releasing tracks from this German Label from Hamburg.
Thanks Chinamon for this mix......paging Highroller????????
