Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with the Police 99.9% of the time.
But this time is different.

I paid a fine (whether or not that fine was justified is rather questionable by itself, no it wasn't speeding or doing anything stupid nor was I in the possession of anything). A couple of days ago I got a letter basically saying "The constable who filled out the paperowrk was a numpty and wrote in the wrong amount. Your fine has been cancelled. Here's a refund of your payment".

But the letter continues. "We are reissuing the fine wiht the correct amount (which is more than I paid the first time)."

Thats shit. If they make a mistake and need to cancel the fine that should be it, they shouldn't be allowed to reissue it. I paid it and just wanted that to be the end of it, and now its flared up again. Fuck that.

write to the commissioner. you'd be surprised how many people get let off their fines if they have cause.
