Got in around 6 and knew immediately there was no chance of getting onto the coliseum floor. Will.i.am made me want to stab my ear drums with any sharp object I could find. I don't want an MC, I want someone to get me moving. I was embarrassed to find so many people cheering their heads off for him any time he said something. Celebrity status I guess?
From there I walked around for 3 hours checking out various stages/meeting up with friends. Circuit Grounds (Sasha stage) was near impossible to find while Neon Gardens was in the boonies. Stuck with Emery for awhile - typical progressive set - enjoyed it a lot. Then saw Sasha. Stayed for 30mins till I had to head to the coliseum. Pure tribal house. LOVED IT. LBL and Benni, I don't want much to say. Sorry just not my style and I was more interested in talking to z women.
For my idols, Above and Beyond, I can only express how much gratitude that you guys came back. It sounds cheesy but their sets are like a religious epiphany for me. So much emotion. Paavo and Jono took me to another planet. Like someone else said, I was on the verge of tears thinking of some of the friends who aren't around anymore. Danced and reached for the lasers. Ended and began with perfection.
Armin did not disappoint. The energy was through the roof for the whole set. I was a little disappointed that the floor got empty, but who can you do except enjoy the music. I was towards the middle of section 6 and pleasantly surprised that the age group looked a bit older than what I expected. I ditched my group a couple times to move into other areas where the crowd was dancing their hearts out. Appreciate those people who let me join in randomly and enjoy the music with them. As a matter of fact I'm blasting his set now. What bpm was he using most of the time??? I feel like it was way over the standard 135
Overall spectacular time had by my group. The production value was out of this world. Fireworks after fireworks. The flames lighting up the whole arena and being bathed in their warmth OoO I can't say I ran into any unexpected problems whatsoever and as a result rank this as my favorite EDC of the past 4 years. Who knows if it was people, the moment, whatever, it all flowed perfectly for me. We actually enjoyed it ending at 2am so we could get some decent sleep even though we partied till 5am.
Next year we are considering cabanas but that might not be for us.
Thanks Insomniac!
A&B, Armin
edit: FYI there should be a city ordnance limiting or even banning the amount of fliers passed out

And lastly I want to hear what Chimera has to say. I personally think nothing even comes close to West Coast Massives but thats personal preference. Bal En Blanc ain't got nothing

went to edc friday only, hadda wedding to go to saturday. got in at around 6pm or so, that was the fastest security ive ever went through, literally no line. had a freakin blast! was bummed out i couldnt meet a bunch of my friends on the main floor and was surprised it got closed so early, at like 630pm. caught some of dirty south, all of shm, kaskade n deadmau5. SHM by far had the best set, kaskade was prob 2nd...my least fave was deadmau5, a little too progressive. had energy pumping the whole night, but his set put me to sleep.
ic a lot of ppl complaining about the liquor...just sneak one of these bad boys in, carries up to a liter of alky, i was sipping on grey goose the entire nite and had some of their shitty $8 beers
