You will never believe what fucking happened to me on Saturday. I got there on Saturday at about 9:30PM(I know its late but I was enjoying my hotel room) to locked gates with security telling us that we could not come in and to go back to our cars because something happened inside. I couldn't believe that I already had a VIP ticket in my hand and cant even get in. Then they lie to us and tell us to go to the other entrance which I already knew was not VIP so I go anyways where there are about 40 cops with riot gear with there batons out blocking the entrance. Then they get on load speaker and tell us that no one is getting in and to go back to our cars and then the cops actually formed a wall and made us walk away. Then the cops would not let us walk across the street to out car and literally made us walk over a mile just to get to our car. All I know is that I paid $250 for VIP tickets and could not even! I guess its not Insomniacs fault but it just really sucks because I have been planing for EDC ever since the last one and then to get shut out I almost cried.

Our friends said that its our fault and that we should have went earlier but I'm sorry I think that if you have VIP tickets you should be able to get in whatever time you choose.

Good thing that I had a fucking blast on Friday and rode all the rides and saw all the DJ's I wanted to see.

Hopefully you were not one of the thousands of people who could not get in Saturday I feel your pain.

wow. that really sucks. I actually heard the cops nearly shut the event down. glad they didn't b/c that would have caused an even bigger problem for them.

edit*

Got in around 6 and knew immediately there was no chance of getting onto the coliseum floor. Will.i.am made me want to stab my ear drums with any sharp object I could find. I don't want an MC, I want someone to get me moving. I was embarrassed to find so many people cheering their heads off for him any time he said something. Celebrity status I guess?

From there I walked around for 3 hours checking out various stages/meeting up with friends. Circuit Grounds (Sasha stage) was near impossible to find while Neon Gardens was in the boonies. Stuck with Emery for awhile - typical progressive set - enjoyed it a lot. Then saw Sasha. Stayed for 30mins till I had to head to the coliseum. Pure tribal house. LOVED IT. LBL and Benni, I don't want much to say. Sorry just not my style and I was more interested in talking to z women.

For my idols, Above and Beyond, I can only express how much gratitude that you guys came back. It sounds cheesy but their sets are like a religious epiphany for me. So much emotion. Paavo and Jono took me to another planet. Like someone else said, I was on the verge of tears thinking of some of the friends who aren't around anymore. Danced and reached for the lasers. Ended and began with perfection.

Armin did not disappoint. The energy was through the roof for the whole set. I was a little disappointed that the floor got empty, but who can you do except enjoy the music. I was towards the middle of section 6 and pleasantly surprised that the age group looked a bit older than what I expected. I ditched my group a couple times to move into other areas where the crowd was dancing their hearts out. Appreciate those people who let me join in randomly and enjoy the music with them. As a matter of fact I'm blasting his set now. What bpm was he using most of the time??? I feel like it was way over the standard 135

Overall spectacular time had by my group. The production value was out of this world. Fireworks after fireworks. The flames lighting up the whole arena and being bathed in their warmth OoO I can't say I ran into any unexpected problems whatsoever and as a result rank this as my favorite EDC of the past 4 years. Who knows if it was people, the moment, whatever, it all flowed perfectly for me. We actually enjoyed it ending at 2am so we could get some decent sleep even though we partied till 5am.

Next year we are considering cabanas but that might not be for us.

Thanks Insomniac!

A&B, Armin

edit: FYI there should be a city ordnance limiting or even banning the amount of fliers passed out

double edit: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET ARMIN ONLY 2010 TO COME TO LOS ANGLES OR SAN FRANCISCO?!@!?!

I would let Groovetickets or TicketMaster (whichever you purchased from) know about this immediately, you may have a chance at getting your money back. Check your receipt to see what it says...there's usually a limited time period to claim a refund but if you couldn't even get in...c'mon it's the only right thing for them to do!

And lastly I want to hear what Chimera has to say. I personally think nothing even comes close to West Coast Massives but thats personal preference. Bal En Blanc ain't got nothing

I tried to warn people earlier in this thread, but even my friend drank it and was close to puking by the time we left...somebody must be sleeping with those Russian Standard girls (by the Russian Standard photo booth" in VIP) for them to keep serving this poison. I read once that it's the best selling vodka in Russia, and I also read that the average male life expectancy in Russia is 51, do we need any more proof????

went to edc friday only, hadda wedding to go to saturday. got in at around 6pm or so, that was the fastest security ive ever went through, literally no line. had a freakin blast! was bummed out i couldnt meet a bunch of my friends on the main floor and was surprised it got closed so early, at like 630pm. caught some of dirty south, all of shm, kaskade n deadmau5. SHM by far had the best set, kaskade was prob 2nd...my least fave was deadmau5, a little too progressive. had energy pumping the whole night, but his set put me to sleep.

ic a lot of ppl complaining about the liquor...just sneak one of these bad boys in, carries up to a liter of alky, i was sipping on grey goose the entire nite and had some of their shitty $8 beers

catch my vids at youtube.com/lphiesteve

I went Sat only - had a great time. Coliseum floor was closed early like everyone says, but the bleachers were nice for taking a break. Caught some of A&B and Armin's opening...wasn't what I was expecting for an opening.

Parking/Will-Call/Line wasn't too bad. If I go next year I'll just go 2 streets up to avoid traffic. Sucks I was in traffic and missed AVICII, was hoping to see him. Roger Sanchez was fun and having never seen Zabiela, so I was intrigued I guess - interesting set. I didn't stick around to see Tyas, wanted to explore the park. Emery, CL, John Fleming and Simon Patterson were great. The Neon Garden stage was amazing - great crowd for the most part. It was nice occasionally seeing some chicks who actually decided to get dressed before they came.
