Friday
Line was fairly short, I was patted down and the security guard found a flask that I had snuck in. He told me to throw it away, but I pulled out $15 and showed it to him and then he took it and let me through. Headed to the main stage and caught some of Donald Glaude, but he gave me a headache so we left to check out the other stages. I don't know about everyone else, but hearing a DJ shout "FUUUCKKKKK YEAH LA!!!!!" every 2 minutes gets pretty repetitive. Went back to see Dirty South who played a pretty solid set. I was lucky enough to be on the dance floor for most of the night, and saw when those rioters broke down the fence. I saw some of the security get punched when they were trying to stop them, pretty funny site. SHM had an amazing set. I told my friends after, whoever booked them deserves a raise. I was disappointed with Kaskade, he played one of the best sets at last years EDC, but this year was pretty boring. Same with Deadmau5, I expected a lot more hard hitting stuff from him, but I must say his cube and visuals were amazing.
Saturday
Again a short line, and got through security without having to bribe anyone. Saw the last 30 minutes of Dada Life, they really had that place going, I'd love to see them back at EDC, maybe playing later in the night. Afrojack also seemed like he had the crowd going. Will.I.Am was awful, that stuff he played does not belong at an event like EDC, or at least on the main stage. Again, I don't need someone yelling "LA LA LA LA" every five minutes. I hope someone has videos of when all those idiots broke down that fence and jumped onto the field because it was pretty funny, too bad there were people that got hurt. Gareth Emery, wow, by far the set of the night. If Insomniac is smart they will book him again for EDC, and this time on the main stage like we were all asking. This was my third or fourth time seeing him, and he never disappoints. We got back to catch the rest of Benassi, nothing spectacular, but I didn't mind as A&B was coming on soon. A&B played a pretty solid set, loved "Home" and "Good For Me," just wished they would've played more of their Oceanlab stuff. By the time Armin came on I was pretty tired, but I liked how he played some tracks off his upcoming album, only complaint is that he closed with Broken Tonight, same thing he did when I saw him at etd Pop in May.
Overall, it was an amazing weekend. I must give props to Insomniac, the production was amazing, I loved the set up for the main stage. Hopefully in the future, Insomniac will listen to the true fans when it comes to things like which artists to book, or what stages to put them on, because I know a lot of us hyped up Gareth Emery, and he did not disappoint.
Other than Will.I.Am, my only other major complaint is that the lights were shut off in the halls of the Coliseum. I don't know why they did this, but it is definitely asking for trouble.

Gotta take my hat off to EDC, that was an amazing production. Stages were awesome. Sound and visuals were top notch. Only thing that sucked was the traffic.
So many high points on Saturday, but have to say Christopher Lawrence had the set of the night for me, he rocked it so hard I nearly passed out by the end of his set. He can majorly throw it down. John Fleming was good too.
Dug the trance stage but some of the music on the two main stages was a bit commercial for my tastes. Would have been nice to hear some thumping trance on the main stages instead of some of the fluff that was coming out of the speakers there.

I'm gonna put this in a Halo 3 perspective, for those that play xbox 360.
The following people I would like to have taken out:
Lasered:
Deadmau5, just because he is all hype. Benny Benassi because he didn't fail me to play another wack set this year. I could hear that corny set from the ferris wheel and I looked at the time and schedule, i'm like yeah it sucks.
Sticky bomb:
Lets not forget Will I. aint, and Lil John, what the heck are you guys doing here? I would have hoped for a hail mary grenade stick in the face from the Vip cabanas.
Frag Grenade:
All fence jumpers, may have got a Killtacular or even better a perfection. Party and broke should not be in the same formula.
Aside from that, EDC was decent, last one for me. The event is outgrowing EDM from what I can tell, next year you'll see Shakira, Eminem, or some other mainstream artist. Good luck.

here is my two min review.
had a general admin ticket for sat night. got to the venue around 5ish, no line, got in about 5 mins. sweet!
main floor was already closed off. when sitting in the seating, i thought the sound was terrible. i think i remember last year's to be a little louder or something, but i thought the sound was pretty shitty since we werent able to go down to the floor. oh well. seeing the stadium full is a great sight to see tho!
got to ride several carnival rides cause the lines were super short. very fun.
the small trance stage was not packed every time i went. CL and J00F killed it.
best set of the night was sasha. tho i think he should of played longer or came on later. his early start time was kinda lame. but he f'ing killed it.
saw 5 mins of armin. since i wasnt on the floor, the sound was too low or terrible and his set kinds lacked the energy i was looking for...or maybe im just not into his music.
james z and roger s played some solid sets too.
i have to say, for the majority of the time, in the stadium, musically speaking, the music was pure crap. but then again, they are catering to a more generic audience. oh well.
overall, the party was great and fun and i cant wait for next year.
