The problem is, always has been, and will REMAIN, (at least IMHO), human nature.
We don't share well. Think what people could accomplish if everyone were focused on the same thing? The US made it to the moon with the computing power of a COMMODORE 64!!! We would be crusing around other galaxies by now... so don't try to tell me that capitalism is the ideal form of economic archetype. Because it simply isn't! |
well since we mentioned the topic of the human race advancing at a high rate(through technology)... I agree with Enraptured... theres another side to the coin.
i mean dont get me wrong, i believe that technology and humanity could have some harmony if we werent so concerned with profit... but again the technology industry is refusing ethics... can you say CLONING. hahaha. ok, so now people think they are God. hahaha
anyways, check out this site... its a scarey perspective of how technology is being pushed in the wrong direction...
mostly for one reason. PROFIT *BARF*

I don't anyone is saying that capitalism is ideal...but it sure beats the pants off anything else out there...
Communism is a nice idea but is the pinicle of Marxism; the utopian society; history shows that any country that's ever adopted it can't compete with the rest of the world...
China knows this and that's why they are starting to allow capitalist businesses...they don't want to be another Russia...

most of my threads sink pretty fast, so maybe thats why
lmao
I'd write my opinions on all this, but I really am too lazy to get into a hot discussion; but I'll just say this about the people who are saying that we shouldn't be told what to do with our money. You're right, we shouldn't. We live in a democracy (i use the term loosely in some aspects) and we shouldn't be told what to do with our possessions; but we are told what to do with it all. Every day you see commercials on TV, ad's in magazines, on the net, telling you to buy this and that. And like all these product advert's, you have charity companies who are asking you to donate to the poor.
But whatever; no system is perfect. There will always be flaws with any political system because, when it comes right down to it, you can't please everybody.
With that being said; I support capitalism simply because I believe that people should have the free will to start a business and make money for their own survival, for their own benefits; BUT, I think that capitalism should be controlled better. Yea, Bill Gates spent countless nights busting his ass off, and all that hard work paid off and he deserves most of it, but being worth more than almost half a country like the US is a little too much; especially when you got so many people in the world itself who never get an oppurtunity to make even a dollar.
edit: well! so much for being lazy and trying not to get into the argument, lol.
