Smirnoff is just an example though, there are heaps of other alcohol companies out there that might be interested in lending their name to club nights.

However, that means you're also subject to their concerns.

anyone been to an ITM party?

They are always JAMMED!

Here is an idea, someone put on a party and make it an ITM party, then you will get it rammed and people will come back. Only problem is getting ITM to sponser it, but damn it would be a good way to get a night going.

We need to research Consumer Behaviour and what attracts people to different nights. Work this out and then you are on your way. Maybe send out questionares etc..

We just need people with connections!

I like this topic keep it going people, eventually we may come up with fool proff plan

I think with a night it is like any business investment. You need a solid business plan. Including all promotion, what market your targeting with the promotion, market size e.t.c. e.t.c. Then of course on the night you need a big team to run it e.t.c.

As i think morro, marlo and the Halcyon boys would agree running a night is alot harder than what it seems. Their is always heaps more to do than anticiapted. Not only that but after doing a night regardless of success or failure one needs to continually analyse what went wrong and how can we change it for next time.

I was going to make a seperate thread for this but may as well place it here. Anyway the arena floor of ARQ is currently not open on a Friday night. Basically for those who haven't been their it is very similar to Home main arena floor but a bit nicer. As in the club flows better.

Anyway I have put a business proposal to them for running a regular Monthly Uplifting Trance night at ARQ . The main areana will easily hold 1000 people. This would be a very well funded widely promoted night both in the gay and lesbian publications and of course the straight publications.

They are very interested but we have already had some major issues:

1) I wanted the night to be straight and gay friendly. They (ARQ) want the night to be gay and straight friendly.

2) They really want the night to be weekly not monthly. I don't think the Trance community would come to a weekly event. Halcyon, A Night Of Trance e.t.c. all work because they are events and people go there to meet up with friends and dance to Trance. If these events were weekly they would not be as special and all of a sudden the going their and seeing everyone you know probably wouldn't be as prominent

Anyway what do you think the night would be supported by a huge promoting effort weeks of preference placed adds in 3D World and SX paper. Huge amount of A2 Gloss Colour posters postered up around the city. Radio adds e.t.c. e.t.c.

At the moment I am of the mind that it is not a logical move for A Night Of Trance. Too big and that the straight Trance community would be detered by a prodominately gay night.

Anyway what do you guys think?

Josh i really don't think tranceaddict is big enough in AU.

ITM have had parties at sublime so they may be interested if you gave them a decent proposal.

As for ARQ i think it may turn people off and then we will be back to square one with just the gay scene supporting uplifting trance. But then again it could work if both advertising campaigns were totally differented and targeted and taylored to the one market.

That means creating two campaigns, one for the straight scene and one for the gay scene.

Look at plastic, it has died off since moving to Oxford street.
