Oh yeah I forgot to add that Lance Cushion's set was great. A really nice warm-up for Tijs. The dude was just dropping some Prog Bombs. As for Rene G No Comment ... ah f**k it.
YOU SUCK !

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. - Timothy Leary

Oh gee great point you have there mate. You speak as if we were privileged to have been graced by his presence. We paid to see this guy because he's made it big as an awesome producer and DJ, and damn, he's talented and popular enough to be voted #1 in the world. It's natural to have high expectations of someone like Tiesto. Now piss off back to your European forum.

He sure did have time for the fans!, My signature is proof Armin is the man. It was a blast meeting him
Kinda sounds like Tijis was a drag. I missed him when he came to Houston back in October. I find when a top name dj ignores has fans, is very unprofessional. His followers are the one who got his Dutch ass to the #1 spot in the first place... (Thats going to change) |
I agree man. Ferry, Armin, they are way up there yet they are still down to earth guys who obviously appreciate their fan base. I'm sorry that I missed Armin for Tiesto this time around, but hey, there'll be a next time.

One of the parties [tiesto or the crowd] involved would have had to get the ball rolling. Seeing as how San Antonio is a bit "green" about EDM, I think Tiesto should have stepped up.
I know its a really really good track, but maybe he's tired of playing it. I DO wish he had played it though.

Agreed @ Tiesto having to step up. He kinda made me feel like he had his own expectations and they weren't met by San Antonio (when it should be the other way around I reckon), rather than taking the place by storm.
About Silence, I see your point Dave. That's why I was really really hesitant to throw the record on stage cos I knew who dissapointed I'd have been if he didn't drop it. But you never know unless you try, so I'm pretty much over it. How awesome would it have been though...

Hmm mixed feelings about last night... and really I shouldn't complain about this, but I'm going to stress my dissapointment anyway... was the Delerium - Silence thing. When Tiesto toured Australia in late december last year, he played 2 new years eve gigs (Melbourne & Sydney on the same night), which at both he dropped Delerium - Silence (Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix). Long prior to these NYE gigs he had said in interviews that dispite the popularity of this track (released in 2000) he had retired it from his record bag and wouldn't play it again. Understandably I was shattered and totally envious of all my mates back home that were there for his sets... so anyway I wondered if I could get Tiesto to play my copy of it last night. |
well friend.. i was doing alittle reading up on Tiesto..even tho the disapointment tuesday...i wanted to know alittle more about the guy..and i was reading up on some of the questions people asked him..and i found this...
Fernie: Hi there, i have recently heard a few interviews with yourself where by you say you would never play Delerium Silence today as its to old and would be deemed as you just playing old stuff again, then you go on to start playing urban train, flight 643 again which are just as old? isnt this a contradiction? it did confuse me somewhat!

Tiësto: Well, don’t take everything I say literally. Sometimes I say things which are in a certain context. I mean, like delirium, I’ve been playing that record a couple of hundred times or a couple of thousand times and sometimes I’m pretty bored with it. And the same goes for Flight 643 and Urban Train as well, I don’t play them every week. Sometimes like when I’m in certain country’s for the first time or the second time they really want me to play an old track, because that’s what they know me from. They know me from my tracks. Silence, maybe I start playing it again in the future, but for now I stop. If there’s like 10 people in front of me with banners asking me “please play silence”, then I will play silence. BHC says: “It’s what ever you feel you should play?” Tiësto: Yeah, I always follow my heart when I’m playing music. Sometimes you see guys that made special plates with “Flight 643” you know, and then I’m like, okay, I’ll drop it in.
I guess you & your friends should have had a bunch of signs requesting Silence.
