Yeah, the no playing of "Silence" was kind of weak. Perhaps he needed some encouragement for an encore? I don't know. After the show, everyone was like "ok" and just left. Tiesto and PvD did their own share of encore tracks at Liquid in Dallas, so maybe the fan base in San Antonio needs more energy or something.

It's kind of a catch-22 though. How can the crowd be pumped full of energy if he's putting on something memorable for them and how can he play a memorable set without an energetic crowd? One of the parties involved would have had to get the ball rolling. Seeing as how San Antonio is a bit "green" about EDM, I think Tiesto should have stepped up.

Does anyone remember that Simpson's episode where Bart is the "I didn't do it" boy? Everywhere he went people wanted him to say his catch phrase and cared not for anything else. Maybe he wants to move on to other things. I know its a really really good track, but maybe he's tired of playing it. I DO wish he had played it though.

My biggest disappointment was not catching that cowboy hat he signed and threw out into the crowd. I was sooooo close and even had most of it in my hand. Oh well...destiny.

heh. i just figured all "popular" people don't want to be bothered by us peons. there are a few exceptions of course. i was actually suprised to see corsten taking photos with you guys. that must've been awesome.

i agree with rememberence on one thing though. there was a lot of bass and not of whole lot of (what i call) technical noise (the cool synth noises that add to trance). zebiela however put out a lot of that technical noise. it was awesome. i hear sandra collins did too.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about, i'm just thankful to even have the opportunity to see Tiesto here in San Antonio.

Oh yeah I forgot to add that Lance Cushion's set was great. A really nice warm-up for Tijs. The dude was just dropping some Prog Bombs. As for Rene G No Comment ... ah f**k it.

Tiesto was not at top form. I remember seeing him several times before he made it to the number 1 Dj spot. One time in particular was when he played element in Austin a couple of years back. He was vastly more friendly and he even took request. I asked him to play IIO-Rapture(before it was huge) and he looked back surprised that I knew of it. He just seemed way more appreciative before of his fans. Oakenfold at Sky Lounge is something I am looking forward to. It will be 21 plus and a more intimate setting.
BTW....for your PVD fans....his site says he will be in Austin on the 22 of September at SKY =)

Oh gee great point you have there mate. You speak as if we were privileged to have been graced by his presence. I agree man. Ferry, Armin, they are way up there yet they are still down to earth guys who obviously appreciate their fan base. I'm sorry that I missed Armin for Tiesto this time around, but hey, there'll be a next time.

Agreed @ Tiesto having to step up. He kinda made me feel like he had his own expectations and they weren't met by San Antonio (when it should be the other way around I reckon), rather than taking the place by storm.

About Silence, I see your point Dave. That's why I was really really hesitant to throw the record on stage cos I knew who dissapointed I'd have been if he didn't drop it. But you never know unless you try, so I'm pretty much over it. How awesome would it have been though...

shite, if was making tons of money by dropping down some choons i be smiling 24/7. plus he is only on for like 4 tops out of a 24 in a day, yeah i'd be stressed out too doing 2-3 sets a week even more he probably does a bit more, but meh.

armin on the other, the couple of times that i have seen him.

*lives in Austin*.. ..i thought the bass was ok..but the only thing i can say for the record..is " I went and saw Tiesto spin" ..i wish it could have been some more current songs ( much like what Armin played )I kinda got the feeling that Tiesto himself wasnt liking San Antonio much.. felt that the crowed wasnt as pumped to see him. I was..but to meet him personaly, i knew his music ( well his set ) wasnt much to my taste aswell..but i was bummed out when i could not get a pic..or even a desent signature. & about that cowboy hat..it was kinda funny when he wore it ..he dosent get my vote for the next pic for #1 Dj ,and if he comes to town..i probably wont see him..unless his attitude changes. I wish i could have seen him here at Element few years back...*thinks*..where the hell!..was I!! He would have Left a better Impression.

I mean, like delirium, I’ve been playing that record a couple of hundred times or a couple of thousand times and sometimes I’m pretty bored with it. And the same goes for Flight 643 and Urban Train as well, I don’t play them every week. Sometimes like when I’m in certain country’s for the first time or the second time they really want me to play an old track, because that’s what they know me from. They know me from my tracks. Silence, maybe I start playing it again in the future, but for now I stop. If there’s like 10 people in front of me with banners asking me “please play silence”, then I will play silence. BHC says: “It’s what ever you feel you should play?” Tiësto: Yeah, I always follow my heart when I’m playing music. Sometimes you see guys that made special plates with “Flight 643” you know, and then I’m like, okay, I’ll drop it in.

I guess you & your friends should have had a bunch of signs requesting Silence.
