that's interesting... am i an exception then??
I personally don't do drugs and I want to stay away from it. The only "drug" that I would take is a bit of alcohol here and there.. but nothing that would get me really drunk... I believe that doing drugs is not taking care of your body... just like eating at mcdonalds all the time or something... Which I want to stay away from.
I have nothing against people who use drugs responsibly, but I have to admit, I would be more comfortable in a group of non-drug users than drug users due to probably what society has drilled into my mind.
I don't want to attack anyone, but if you want to have a decent comparison between the pros and cons of drug use, you have to look at it from both point of views unbiasedly. Most of the comments I've heard from people are biased (both drug users and non-drug users).
From what I can tell... the pros and cons of drugs (MDMA, weed, etc... excluding coke and other more potent and harmful drugs)
PROS:
- Enhances the music.. takes it to a whole new level
- Feels good, doesn't hurt anyone... presumably safe?
- Less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco
- Doesn't hurt anyone
- Relaxes/Excites you
CONS:
- May have impurities in it, causing it to be dangerous
- May be associated with criminal activities (from dealers)
- Unresponsible Excessive use may cause damage to body or death
- Tabooed by society
- May cause some damage to your body??
Please feel free to correct, add or anything to this list... Let's be rational instead of being biased

I'd say there are more pros and cons, but those seems pretty accurate from my own experience.
That said, I am fully aware of them, and its a risk I have been willing to take for the past 6 years now, and you know what, I am pretty certain I'm a hell of alot more well-adjusted than most people.

i totally embrace drug usage in dance music culture... its been a massive part of dance music and EDM since its birth.. and im willing to say that drugs have a large part in the way our scene is right now... the atmosphere, the sound as fuck people.
i havnt bothered to read all this thread.. but i think i know what to expect if i do, moere of the same, druggies are scum, thyey ruin the scene yadda yadda. personally, i had my big stint in drug taking.. pills, speed, ketamine acid, mushrooms etc etc etc.. strictly club drugs tho, as did all my friends, and to be honest, ive met sum of the soundest ppl i could ever wish to meet over the years, and had the mostenjoyable times possible.
never seen any fighting, bad attitude ever. end of the day, if you dont do drugs and go to a club and wanna stare at drug users like scum, and be warey of how your dancing, or be more bothered about scoring chicks, then whatever, ill be there at 6am on the dancefloor asking for one more tune.
as for people turninf into dickheads when on drugs....BULLSHIT! the only drug that cvan turn you into sum thing your not, is coke... and if your gonna be doing coke itll either turn you into a fun loving person, or youll turn into a dickhead and think your better than everyone, sumthing which i dont wanna end up like, so i dont do it.
i have had quite a few years, hammering the fuck out fo drugs.. 15 pills a night and a gram of speed etc, and i honestly dont think im a dickhead because of it, drug usage has opened my eyes to a reality, that drug takers are nice friendly people, and they showed me how to appreciate the good times, and understand what it is like to be down... which i see as a very good thing to see.
end of the day.. if i go to a club, bump into a guy/girl whatever, and end up being with them all night, and making a new friend out of no-where, sumone that lives at the other end of the country, sumone i could very weel bump into again at another club a few months down the line... then im 100% all for drugs.

yep ... i totally agree on that ... ppl partying without drugs are such an annoyance in the morning ... long faces and nagging over everything ... i mean .... if u cant hande partying all night - go home

IMO ... is the chance of drugs being responsible for turning ppl into dickheads the same as for alchol ... or better yet - lower ... drunk ppl are aggressive and ... oh we all know how they behave dont we
and another thing ... it my personal opinion based on my own experiences and also an opinion of many scientes, that drugs can help ppl to know themselves better, deeper or whatever you want to call it ... and that is basical for leading full life ... to know yourself as much as you can
and here is anoter thing ... clean aka drugsfree ppl calling us addicts and similar names ... arent they just cowards, having no guts to open new doors? ... are they afraid of being too weak to be able to resist potential addiction? ... well ... there is sth on that - lots of my drugsfree friends say they are afraid to try it
