FEELINGS
because i can relax, dance, jump, fuck, get lost....every single (not many these days) tune brings out a feeling from me.
examples
megara - the megara, makes me melancholic, its a doleful tune...
blank & jones - cream, makes me extratension, like i've drink 10 espresso's.
solar stone - seven cities, makes me calm...
cygnus x - orange theme, makes me feel evil.
ayla - liebe, makes me happy.
the thrillseekers - synaesthesia, makes me get lost..
i cant dance with all tracks, even if others can, even if that track is one of my best, depends on the feeling i have for each track,
...and FUCK the drugs, the real funs get high with the music only, there's no need for drugs, if you want drugs to feel, then you cant feel at all, its all an illusion.
you know what i mean or maybe i should visit a shrink?

I'm addicted to trance because it's the only kind of music that sends shivers down my back... because I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about blasting it... because it's the only type of music that when I'm excited to head home for break to see everyone, it makes me drive past home so that I can listen to it for a couple more hours...
And "addicted" really is the only word. I listen to it non-stop, 24/7 (I know, like many others have said ) and I never get tired of it.
Like someone else said in this thread, I obviously didn't grow up on trance, but I also loved other types of music before this, but never nearly as much as trance. Trance just seemed to have everything that other types of music lacked, in the search for the more powerful, moving music.
I'm also an INTJ and think the same thing. I have weird ways of describing things (that makes sense if you know me, according to friends ) but trance is just so logical, and productive... maybe that'll mean something to someone else.
I used to try to convert people also, since I knew of only one other friend that loved trance. In the end I found that it was better for them to just get used to it by hanging out with me (since I listen to it all the time, lol) and most of the people I know ended up at least being able to enjoy it.
Sometimes I wish I had an mp3 player so I could listen to it when I'm walking to class, or even in class, but whenever I don't have music playing around me, it seems to literally blast in my head, and no other kind of music has done that before. Of course I'd prefer it to be blasting from the speakers, but when that's not around, the music in my head seems to get me groovin...
I've always tried to analyze my personal musical history, and of course why trance fits me. It just seems like such an obvious choice, really. Everything about it is just amazing.
