Which is exactly why on one hand, some cannot accept different people have different tastes of music, while on the other hand, some people defend the American progressive or mcprog genre like there's no tomorrow.

I think calling this progressive trance is the best label. This trend to me is very simialr to Rock, when progressive rock bands like Pink Floyd and Greatful Dead seperated themselves from the typical rock sounds with a more deeper less obvious journey. This to me is what has happened to trance with these producers.
