So how does Ultra work? This will be my first time attending...
All those DJ's that they list on their website cannot all play in one day, right?

So, they just choose a few to play "LIVE" on the "Main Stage"? The other dj's play in tents or something?

The live lineup does not sound too great... I mean cmon, you would think it would be some top 10 DJs. dont get me wrong, some of them are ok, but I would prefer to see someone like Mauro Picotto or DJ Dan on the main stage.

How does the lineup stuff work at Ultra?

theres 10 or 12 stages wet up with the headliners playinjg the main stage. and yes, they all ply in one day. I think the lineup is pretty impressive so far but they still havent released all the names of performers. as far as live shows, you gotta check rabbit in the moon, it should be the best live show IMO ;-)

I just hope that they have a good DJ lineup live. This will be my first time attending Ultra and I have spent lots of money to go. I am coming from Dallas, TX, hotel and airfare paid for, VIP tickets and extra money for food, beer and whatever else that I need.

I just dont want to be disappointed. The Ultra DVD showed some great artists and that is what inspired me to attend. I wouldn't mind seeing DJ Dan, DJ Baby Anne, Sasha and Digweed, Mauro Picotto and another live set from Rabbit in the Moon.

How many "Live" lineups will actually happen on the main stage? I guess all the other DJ's listed play in tents or just show up to the festival? right?

no, they dont just show up, they all play sets, the headliners play on the main stage, and then there are seperate other stages, yes, some of them are makeshift stages in tents but the DJs dont just 'show up', if they're listed in the lineup, they actually play a set. as far as how many live PA shows there are gonna be, I'm not sure. oh and if you wanna see dj baby anne, I wouldnt miss dj icey. I would say last year that icey and junkie XL played the best musically but rabbiit in the moon put on the best overall show due to thier unreal visual show. it doesnt matter much now if you already bought your tix but I wouldnt bother with VIP, its kinda nice but its just not worth the money. we did vip last year but decided not to this year cuz its just not worth it. so if you havent bought tix yet, I would consider not buying vip. if you have already bought tickets, then use your VIP pass to let you walk through sum areas without having to walk through the crowd to get from A to B, that was the most use we got outa our VIPs. I doubt you'll be dissapointed though. ;-)

hey, that is real refreshing to hear. Unforunately, I already bought the VIP online, but like I said, this is my first time ever.

What about the seating? Is it assinged for the main stage? Or anyone just gets to sit anywhere?

If I want to see a DJ at the main stage, is the best seating near the middle due to the light shows? How do you know who is the next DJ to perform on the main stage.

Thanks again for the information, it is really helpful and will prepare me better....

when you get to the show, they will give you a flyer with which DJ is playing at what stage. they dont totally stick to it though so its a bit hard to see everyone you want. as far as seating, aside from the few places that are roped off for VIP (which you'll of course have access to), I think its just general admission. as for where the best seating is, it depends on what you like. sometimes I wanna chill further in the back so I can dance, but sometimes like at the RITM show for example, I wanna get as close as possible to see bunny's antics. I all depends! I'm sure you'll have a blast! try to hit up sum other shows besides just ultra too while you're down. hopefully this helps, lemme know if you have any more questions. ;-)

I still have the flyer from last year and it seems the line-up was a lot better last year, but I guess we'll see when it's finalized.

Smoking ..umm..something

That is great info Tazzz, thanks a bunch...you are the coolest!

I doubt that I can take a backpack or a digital camera? My wife will be taking her purse so I think they allow that...

I was thinking about slipping the guy/gal at the gate a twenty to let us take the camera in if they dont allow it.

Is it best to take a cab/bus out there? I can imagine the traffic and crowds out there once its done.

And the weather out there in Miami, I am assuming is very comfortable so my wife should be able to wear shorts and a bikini top?

sorry for all the questions, just want to have a good time and be comfortable...

bikini should be fine, camera may not be officially allowed but they let chicks bring purses and dont thoroughly search em so you should be able to bring a camera, we brought ours last time without a problem. make sure you both bring your IDs everywhere. as for how to get there, I would suggest staying nearby and walking, if you're not staying that close then I would take a cab there for sure. oh and here is a big one, especially for the wife.......bring toilet paper! the porta pottys are gross to begin with AND theres no toilet paper. actually bring sum extra toilet paper so you're wife can be nice and offer it to other gurls who didnt bring any ;-)
sum chick saved my gurl last year the same way. ask away if you have any more questions. I'll hit you up if I can think of anything else you should need to know. ;-)
