this thread is alive and kicking! we're top of the league by a confortable margin!
tonight: Vitória Guimarães 0-2 FC Porto (Quaresma, Jorginho)
Quaresma's goal was AWESOME - this guy really can score from anywhere in the pitch, he's by far our best player and the entire league's best player at the moment. Too bad he was replaced due to injury, hopefully it's not serious.
You guys should also see Jorginho's miss, it was hilarious. He had a completely empty goal in his front, took ages to strike it, slipped and lost the ball. If he didn't score 1 minute later, I don't know what the fans would have done to him
league table:
1. FC Porto 37
2. Nacional 33
3. Benfica 31
4. Sporting 30
5. Vit. Setúbal 29
6. Sp. Braga 29
7. Boavista 23
Nacional won 3-0 at Boavista's home Setúbal is fucked, they've just lost 4 important players cause they didn't have the money to pay 'em

Where's the "bumpasaurus makes a quick cameo" pic.
Anyway. I'm pretty frustrated right now after we completely dominated the match against Braga for about 80 minutes and they get an equalizer 5 mins from the end through a questionable penalty kick. We even hit the post twice, and the bar once.
Quaresma is starting to get into some poor form, he's still good but not as decisive as he was a couple matches ago. On the contrary, brilliant game from Pepe, Paulo Assunção and Bosingwa . McCarthy did pretty well too, unlucky not to score in 2 occasions. Lucho scored our only goal once again and remains as our top scorer in the league (with 7 i think)
Despite some poor results, we still have a decent advantage thanks to Benfica really fucking up in the last few games. Sporting is now moving up the table very fast and showing some good football, should be the biggest threat. Standings:
1. FC Porto 45
2. Sporting 40
3. Sp. Braga 40
4. Benfica 40
5. Nacional 39
6. Boavista 35
Next matches: Belenenses (A), Marítimo (H), Benfica (A). We would play in the middle of this week for the Cup but we got lucky with a bye

Belenenses 0-2 FC Porto
w00t
Both goals by the brazilian forward Adriano (winter signing). He has already played in Portugal for a couple season by Nacional and did fine but i'm not entirely convinced he's good enough for us. Seems to be playing very well lately tho

massive match today: Benfica-FC Porto
a win would basically take away any chances of them winning the title. a defeat would mean Sporting gets dangerously close to us. in 9 matches between Koeman and Adriaanse, Koeman won 7 and drawn 2, so it's about fucking time Co gets a win.
current league table:
1. FC Porto 51
2. Sporting 49 (+1 match)
3. Braga 44
4. Boavista 44 (+1 match)
5. Benfica 43
6. Nacional 43 (+1 match)

Great match tonight, I'll try to hook up with it even though I'll be watching Lazio vs. Roma tonight.
