im not prejudiced against hip-hop... i buy rap records today, i support artists that deserve it. immortal technique, big L (when he was still alive), Mos Def. i dont even download 50cent, and other shit thats on the radio. im just giving examples, its support for the overrated artists from non-thought-indulging masses that brought record prices to such heights and brought the quality of their music down, how often does this happen. one good track on the album and the rest is crap? just because you like one song should you buy the whole album? NO.

Obviously you shouldn't pay for music you don't like
But that was not your point, you didn't like the way they spend your money right?

Prices go down when more people buy them.

why would they lower prices if everyone's buying?

when everyone buys shares of a company, the prices of a share goes UP

If you have noticed Cd prices have droped from the past prices $19-22(00-01).

Fundacion was $11

If you lower the price, you sell more.

"if you lower the prices you sell more"

because records arent selling that well. if they were selling good would they drop prices for the hell of it, to do the consumer a favor? no.... record sales in general went down, thats why the prices go down.. but never would someone lower prices if he was selling more and more

Your crazy. You think its a favor to lower the prices? Hell no. But it makes the people that are not sure about buying the releases into buying them. There are so many tracks that I could not justify buying them if they are going to cost me $14 but I sure as hell would if they were $8.

Why dont they make vinyl $20 a record then? or $30 a record? Obviously cause less people would buy it, even though they would make more of a profit.

The point he's trying to make is that prices have took a dramatic hit becuase sales are low, in hopes of boosting sales and making it a more attractive purchase.

Simple. You'd rather squander your money elsewhere.
