Watching a DJ play on Ableton is like watching a rock guitar player having a computer do his guitar work, for him, while he waves to the crowd like a cheerleader\idiot\deadmau5. Who wants to see that? Seriously. I'm sorry but if I go see a DJ, I want to see him work for his flawless beats. I don't want to see him just sit there and wave to the crowd, like a cheerleader\idiot\deadmau5, and then push a couple of buttons for silly effects and then click and point for the next tune. I'm sorry but that's just gay... Hell, I can do all that fancy shit, on a tricked out mixer, AND beat match a flawless set. I see Ableton as "training" wheels for noobs who don't know how to beat match and blend properly. Real men use only their God given ears to beat match and blend. Real men don't need "training" wheels when DJing live. Only children\noobs\veteran DJs who lost their faith in their skill in making flawless mixes....use training wheels..... |
As long as the result sounds good, who cares? It's not like the computer picks the tracks, cue points, or playlist order for the DJ...
