Without reading the essays on the last page:
The only thing 'healthier' about montreal's scene is the ability to throw massives. Toronto's scene is too big for it's venues but because of legislation here, we can't do what you can do with the larger parties.
But the vibe can be just as good here as it is in montreal. There have been a number of times at Boa or System, or even this passed spring on the skybar for the lawler/sasha party, where I've felt the vibe was as strong, if not stronger than the parties I'd been to in montreal. To be honest, everytime I'm in montreal, and I go out to party, I'm already so reared to go, even if the party was only medeocre, I'd probably feel better about it only because I'm visiting, not because it was actually a spectacular party.
As for Jenn, when are you gonna be in ibiza hun? I'm planning on an extended european trip, and ibiza is on the schedule.

Oh yeah, don't hate the scene, be the scene. Become the media. Practice the sacred rites of the left hand path. Launder your clothes with fresh tears. Don't buy animals for pets. Rainbows kept in little jars are inhumane. Keep your diabetes in check. If you haven't listened to anything but house all year, you're technically deaf. Go to a museum. Hint:
1. The Musee d'art contemporain sucks right now. But the outside of the building is really cool.
2. Toronto has the new Gunther Van Hagen exhibit, but it's hard to get to it.
Reinvent rainbows, leather, and motorcycles for people that are tough, shy, or happy, respectively. These boots were made for walkin'. Those converse were made for more than just hanging out at your local coffee house, discussing Walpole and giving yourself squishy guts. Kiss strangers full on the lips. Buy random, ugly people nice things. If you're walking next to a bus that's full of kids with a friend, pretend to kick your friend to death. If you're going to rattle the chains about your own provincial egomania, blow it out your ass.
