If you have a problem with skin, be it shirtless men or half-naked women, GO TO A MAINSTREAM CLUB.

Music aside, the afterhour club scene is supposed to be dark & dirty, hot & sweaty, diverse & downright raw... these are the fundamental ingredients which make the entire underground experience what it is... and if you can't appreciate this, then you have no business being at Sonic.

If you like it neat, tidy & sterile, go someplace else... there's plenty of places to choose from. Toronto has waited long enough for a club like this... it would be a shame to start imposing all these haughty rules & turn into another pretentious club like all the rest.

common courtesy is the key...you can be a dark and dirty underground clubber and still wear a shirt.....heck....a nice thin wife beater would be fine.

I get it...you got muscles...good for you....now put a shirt on.

It has nothing to do with showing off your muscles, but instead, has more to do with getting in touch with your rudimentary self... the very essence of your being... the very depth of your soul.

Obviously, you don't get it... and I suppose unless you've experienced it first hand, you wouldn't know what the heck I'm talking about.

I just hope there are enough people in this city that do understand or I fear the beauty of this concept will be short-lived. (Thankfully Montreal is only short ride away...)

The homos love to run shirtless, I dont think I've ever been to an event where there has been a large number of gay people/gay-targeted, in which their shirts remained on.

Fly in Toronto, or Stereo in Montreal, or Parking on their gay night -- shirtless sweaty gay men is the norm. If Sonic is really going to push for the gay-friendly-mixed-crowd Vibe like at Stereo, then forcing people to put on shirts isnt going to be the way to go about it.

and if bumping into a shirtless sweaty guy is enough to ruin your night, then maybe you shouldnt be going to clubs like Sonic - just a thought.

Hell, David was shirtless, why should he expect the people at his club to keep their shirts on if he isnt doing the same?

I'm not a fan of running shirtless myself (and not like I have the body for it even if I was a fan), but other people being shirtless doesnt bother me at all.

I'm sorry to say this, but after reading some many people complaining about shirtless men dancing around you, I'm beginning to wonder if Toronto is ready for a club like this one.

I would hope that a world class city, like Toronto, would have enough open minded people to go to a place, where a real underground vibe will take place. Not sure if this is news for you, but if you want a good party, you need gay people, and if you don't like them, someone said it before me, go to another place where you won't be touching shoulder with them.

again, this stuff is all new for me, I'm from Montreal, a Stereohead here, and our complains are usually if the DJ gave his/her best or not. Yes, we do get mad when we are left out for too long in the line, specially in the winter, but hey, that happens.

anyway, very interesting to hear what Toronto, or I should say, this forum is talking about this new place. I hope I have the chance to check it out soon.

Amen.

This is exactly the way I feel to.

I have no issues with ppl running aroud shirtless. Its adds to the vibe, the uniqueness of the after-hours clubbing experience - it does not take away from it IMHO. Its fun to do every once in a while, and I can by no means be considered to be a person showing off my "physique", unless its my beer belly.

I still feel that for a club to have that extra touch of class
shirts should ALWAYS be mandatory

I've got to agree with the other points being made here. Sonic is afterhours, and not really about class.
